    • A slidable latch mechanism is provided that may be used to latch and unlatch rotatable structures, such as doors or compartments in automobiles that rotate or pivot when they open or close. The slidable latch mechanism includes structure that permits the latch mechanism to remain stationary when mounted to an inclined slot and when subject to the forces of gravity. This structure will hold the latch mechanism in position when not engaged by a pin of the rotatable structure and, when engaged by the pin of the rotatable structure, the structure that holds the latch mechanism in position will permit the latch mechanism to slide or move along the slot and thus allow the latching or unlatching of the rotatable structure.

    • A lid locking apparatus has a storage member, a lid, a knob member having a first abutment portion, a lock member having a second abutment portion and first and second biasing members. When the lid is in a closed position, the lock member locks the lid, when the knob member is in a closed position, the first biasing member biases the first and second abutment portions so as to abut each other, when the knob member is opened, the first biasing member biases to swing the lock member and the knob member integrally to thereby release the locked state, and when the lid is closed, the second biasing member biases the knob member in a direction towards the closed position to separate the abutment portions to thereby allow the lock member to swing independently even in the locked state.

    • A flush mounted latch for a sliding panel or pocket door includes a snap-in, installation, from the edge of the panel or door. A slide handle operates a pair juxtaposed, pivoting, keeper-engaging, hooks to open them. The handle carries a lock rod which is engaged by a privacy knob operated from the inside of the latch or a lock cylinder/lock plug operated from the outside of the latch. A case/housing encloses the latch mechanism with two walls. Each case wall has side top-edge flanges that seat on respective face of the door. A plurality of screws and threaded studs are utilized to adjust the distance between the two opposing flanged housing walls to accommodate variances in door thickness. A first gasket seals the case/housing adjacent its outside wall. A second gasket seals the case housing and slide handle adjacent the inside wall. Cover plates are included on both sides of the latch.

    • The invention relates to a closure comprising a closing head (20) and a lock (10) which rest on the immobile or mobile part of a door, flap or such like. The closing head (20) has an undercut axial shoulder (26) which during coupling is engaged by a radially mobile blocking member (11) in the lock (10). The lock (10) further comprises a sensing member (12) and a restoring member (13) for the blocking member (11). To make the lock less prone to malfunctions the invention provides for the axially spring-loaded sensing member (12) to be used as a locking means for the radially spring-loaded blocking member (11). When the locking effect is actuated the blocking member (11) is held in a release position in relation to the closing head (20). When the closing head (20) is engaged the sensing member (12) carries out an axial movement which releases the lock so that the radial spring-loading can move the blocking member (11) into its blocked position. Actuation of the restoring member (13) results in a radial reverse movement of the blocking member (11), which activates the locking of the sensing member (12) and locks the blocking member (11) in its release position.

    • A lock of the catch type adapted to use in combination with a casket is disclosed. The lock includes a locking pin and a receiving element. The locking pin in installed on the lid of the casket and has a portion configured so to enable it to engage and remain engaged, when so desired, in the receiving element of the lock. The receiving element is installed in one of the side walls of the casket so that it is directly opposite to the locking pin. The receiving element comprises a hollow cylinder case adapted to be inserted and rotate with respect to a sleeve. The hollow cylinder case and the sleeve each comprises an opening for receiving the corresponding portion of the locking pin. The receiving element further including a compressible O-ring for enabling the hollow cylinder case to be inwardly biased against the sleeve during locking and unlocking of the lock.
