    • The present invention provides a method for implementing a location update that includes: receiving a routing area update request message which includes a mixed location update indication and a routing area identification (RAI) and is sent by a serving radio network subsystem (SRNS); performing, at least according to the RAI, a routing area update; at least according to the routing area update request message, obtaining a location area identification (LAI) and an address of a visitor location register (VLR) which are of a 2G network system where a mobile terminal is located; and sending the location area update request message, which carries at least the mixed location update indication and the LAI, to the VLR corresponding to the address of the VLR such that the VLR corresponding to the address of the VLR implements a location area update, at least according to the location area update request message.

    • A method of performing random access in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method of performing random access in a user equipment of a wireless communication system which uses multiple carriers includes transmitting a preamble for random access to a network, receiving a random access response message from the network in response to the preamble, transmitting a connection setup request message to the network, the connection setup request message requesting connection establishment with the network, and receiving a first message from the network, the first message including connection setup information and contention resolution information in a random access procedure. If a user equipment identifier of the user equipment is included in the message, the user equipment determines that it has successfully performed random access and performs a next procedure in accordance with the connection setup information. If the user equipment identifier of the user equipment is not included in the message, the user equipment determines that it has failed in random access and transmits a random access preamble to the network again after the lapse of a predetermined time period.

    • A femtocell includes a memory, a transmitter, a receiver and a controller. The memory stores access probability values in different time periods, and a comparison table of power saving rates and probability thresholds. Each power saving rate is a proportion of the time periods whose access probability values are not more than a predetermining probability threshold and all time periods. The controller includes a setting module setting the predetermining probability threshold, a time module getting a current time and a corresponding current time period, a user identifying module determining whether the user accessing the femtocell through the receiver is a registered user, a switching module controlling the transmitter through determining whether the access probability value at the current time period is less than the predetermined probability threshold, a statistic module calculating the access probability value at the current time period according to the identifying result of the user identifying module.

    • The present invention is related to transmitting data in a mobile communication system. Preferably, the present invention comprises transmitting first data to a receiving side and receiving acknowledgment information for indicating whether the first data was successfully transmitted to the receiving side. If the first data was not successfully transmitted to the receiving side, the method further comprises determining whether an amount of available radio resources is sufficient for retransmitting the first data to the receiving side, retransmitting the first data to the receiving side if the amount of available radio resources is sufficient to retransmit the first data, reconfiguring the first data into at least one second data if the amount of available radio resources is insufficient to retransmit the first data, wherein the at least one second data can be transmitted to the receiving side using the amount of available radio resources, and transmitting the at least one second data to the receiving side.

    • The present invention discloses a mobile device and a power saving method thereof. The mobile device comprises a modem processor and a data processor. The modem processor is electrically connected to a wireless network system for receiving/transmitting a network packet. When the data processor is in a hibernation mode, the IP packet protocol module of the modem processor unpacks the received network packets to access the packet data. If it is determined that the packet data need to be processed by the data processor, the modem processor wakes up the data processor; whereas the data processor remains in the hibernation mode. Thus, the time period in which the data processor is in the hibernation mode is extended so as to achieve power saving effect.
