    • Disclosed is a video recording apparatus capable of performing long-recording at higher density and certainly associating the video data with additional data. Video images from a plurality of video cameras 101 are captured by a multiplexer 103 while sequentially being switched. A frame compositing unit 1 forms reduced video images by reducing the captured video images and generates a composite video image by displaying the reduced video images on divided parts. A CPU 3 generates additional data related to the reduced video image on each divided part and records the composite video image and additional data onto the same video cassette tape 7 while maintaining the correspondence between each reduced video image and additional data. By recording video images from the plurality of video cameras at higher density, long-recording can be realized. By using the additional data, a desired reduced video image can be retrieved from the recorded composite video image and the retrieved reduced video image can be analyzed.

    • The present invention relates to a video signal processing device for avoiding a phenomenon that noise is upwardly or downwardly shifted due to noise reducing operation when a non-standard signal is input. When a non-standard signal is input as an input video signal, coefficients of interpolating filters for carrying out interpolation on pixels of timely-sequential field video signals are fixed as a non-standard signal supporting signal processing. With this processing, interpolated pixels achieved by the interpolation processing are located at the same vertical spatial position, and pixels which are noise-reduced by the interpolated pixels are located at the same vertical spatial position as pixels before original noise is reduced, thereby locating the pixels at the same horizontal position.

    • This invention provides a recording and/or reproducing apparatus having a reproducing circuit for reproducing coded main information, and historical information, with respect to signal processing which was performed on the main information. An error correcting circuit corrects a code error in the main information. The reproducing circuit provides error correcting information with respect to the error correcting processing. A first constructing circuit constructs coded data based on the correcting information by concealing an error which cannot be corrected by said error correcting circuit. A decoding circuit decodes the main information provided by the first constructing circuit, and a second constructing circuit constructs decoded data by concealing the error, which cannot be corrected by the error correcting circuit, in the main data which has been decoded by the decoding circuit. The decoded data is constructed based on the historical information and the correcting information, thus preventing degradation of the signal and allowing a high quality image to be obtained.
