摘要： Methods and systems for video retargeting and view selection using motion saliency are described. Salient features in multiple videos may be extracted. Each video may be retargeted by modifying the video to preserve the salient features. A crop path may be estimated and applied to a video to retarget each video and generate a modified video preserving the salient features. An action score may be assigned to portions or frames of each modified video to represent motion content in the modified video. Selecting a view from one of the given modified videos may be formulated as an optimization subject to constraints. An objective function for the optimization may include maximizing the action score. This optimization may also be subject to constraints to take into consideration optimal transitioning from a view from a given video to another view from another given video, for example.

The disclosed system includes a receiver that continuously receives position data from a wireless pointing device; a calibration unit that calculates positions for the electronic pointer relative to a viewing device based on the position data received from the wireless pointing device; a processor that renders the electronic pointer in an original video feed received from a video source to create the new video stream as a single data stream, such that the electronic pointer is positioned at locations in the new video stream that correspond to the calculated positions for the electronic pointer; and a server that transmits the new video stream to the wireless pointing device to be rendered on a screen of the wireless pointing device.

摘要： In one embodiment, a stream of data packets originated by a visual data source is received at an edge device in a network. The data packets include at least one of video data, image data, and geo spatial data. Next, a visual data attribute is extracted at the edge device from the stream of data packets according to an edge-based extraction algorithm. The extracted visual data attribute is vectorized at the edge device via quantization vectors. The vectorized visual data attribute is then indexed at the edge device in a schema-less database that stores indexed visual data attributes.

The disclosed system includes a receiver that receives position data from a wireless pointing device and a processor that calculates a current position for the electronic pointer relative to the viewing device and renders the electronic pointer in a video feed received from a video source. Thereafter, the processor identifies a current location in the video feed that corresponds to a calculated current position for the electronic pointer, identifies content in the video feed positioned at the current location, dynamically manipulates additional content in response to a manipulation request from the wireless pointing device, and delivers the manipulated content to the viewing device for display thereon.

摘要： A system for streaming multiple encodings of a source video stream is disclosed. A source video device system captures and/or receives source video comprising a plurality of source video frames. The source video device system encodes the source video frames into virtual frames, with each of the virtual frames being encoded using at least one different encoding parameter. To each virtual frame is appended virtual stream identifier which is appropriate for a selected transmission mechanism. The source video device system forms a container frame from the virtual frames and transmits the container frame over a network. Devices receiving transmissions over unreliable connections may reconstruct the transmitted streams using the synchronization headers.
