    • A method and device are disclosed for conveying information relationships. In one embodiment, the method includes prompting, in a navigation device, at least one of input and selection of a travel destination and a desired arrival time at the travel destination; calculating an arrival time during travel to the travel destination; and outputting via the navigation device, during travel to the travel destination, an indication of a relationship between the desired arrival time and the calculated arrival time. In another embodiment, the method includes inputting a travel destination on a navigation device; determining a travel route to the input travel destination; calculating a speed in a navigation device during travel to the travel destination along the determined route; and outputting, via the navigation device, an indication of a relationship between a permitted speed and the calculated speed.

    • In a navigation system, an index information (idx(di(S))) tagged to an objective differential information (di(S)) which is a part of the entire differential information (di) is transmitted from a navigation apparatus (200) to a navigation server (100). Specifically, the index information (idx(di(S))) tagged to the objective differential information (di(S)) pertained to an area (S) containing therein a navigation route (r) for guiding an automobile (2) to a destination position (p2) is transmitted from the navigation device (200) to the navigation server (100). Further, the navigation server (100) determines whether the objective differential information (di(S)) is temporally valid or not, and the objective differential information (di(S)) is added to a navigation map information on condition that the determination result is affirmative. Furthermore, a new navigation route (r) can be set and output according to the updated navigation map information to which the objective differential information (di(S)) has been added.

    • A navigation device is provided with which output of a guidance voice is completed at an appropriate timing with respect to a reference point related to output of the guidance voice. The navigation device of the present invention includes position locating means 9 for locating a position of a vehicle, speed measurement means 13 for measuring a speed of the vehicle, audio output means 15 and 17 for outputting a guidance voice related to a guide point N on a guidance route leading to a destination, and a control means 1 for controlling output of the guidance voice by using as reference a reference point obtained by returning along the guidance route from the guide point by a prescribed reference distance. The control means 1, when the vehicle reaches an utterance start point obtained by returning along the guidance route from the guide point by an utterance start distance, causes the audio output means 15 and 17 to output the guidance voice. The utterance start distance is longer than the reference distance, and increases as an utterance time that is the duration of the guidance voice increases, and as the vehicle speed measured at the speed measurement point for the reference point increases.
