    • Provided in the present invention is a method for exchanging business card information by combining character recognition and image matching, and the method is applicable in a network system composed of a website server, a first client, and a second client. The method comprises at least: the first client uploading to the website server character information and an image feature acquired from a business card image of a second client user; the website server retrieving all the prestored business cards matched with the character information from a business card database, performing an image feature matching, then selecting a candidate business card on the basis of the similarity of the image feature, and determining if the candidate business card belongs to the second client user; if so, then after obtaining the second client' permission, the website server transmitting the business card information of the second client user to the first client, while also transmitting the business card information of the first client to the second client; and if not, then ending the procedure. This ensures the accuracy and recognition speed of exchanging business card information, and further protects the privacy of the business card owners.

    • In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an image of a document; performing optical character recognition (OCR) on the image; extracting an address of a sender of the document from the image based on the OCR; comparing the extracted address with content in a first database; identifying complementary textual information in a second database based on the address; and at least one of: extracting additional content from the image of the document; correcting one or more OCR errors in the document using the complementary textual information, and normalizing data from the document prior to determining a validity of the document using at least one of the complementary textual information and predefined business rules. At least one of the aforementioned operations is performed using a processor of a mobile device. Exemplary systems and computer program products are also disclosed.

The system includes a data verification workstation, an image server, and a data entry server. The data verification workstation is configured to obtain document images from the image server, present portions of document images to an operator, wherein the document images include text, and receive input from the operator based on the text. The input includes data elements. The data verification workstation is also configured to acquire machine-recognized data elements from the data entry server. The machine-recognized data elements were acquired from the document image during a machine-implemented data acquisition process based on the text. The data verification workstation is also configured to compare the data elements received from the operator to the machine-recognized data elements and selectively prompt the operator to re-input the data elements based on the comparison.
