    • A system and method for reading file blocks includes reading an inode associated with the file from the file system, the inode including one or more first block pointers, determining a height of a file tree associated with the file, and determining whether a value of a second block pointer selected from the one or more first block pointers is consistent with the file having been stored using a block allocation pattern. When the value of the second block pointer is consistent with the file having been stored using the block allocation pattern the method further includes pre-fetching a plurality of file blocks based on the block allocation pattern, verifying that the pre-fetched file blocks are consistent with the file tree, and retrieving one or more data blocks of the file. In some examples, the block allocation pattern corresponds to the file being stored in streaming order to consecutively and contiguously located blocks.

    • The present disclosure discloses an index constructing method, search method, device and system. The index constructing method includes: constructing data obtained in each preset time period into a primary index segment, respectively, and merging the constructed primary index segments into a primary index segment set after each preset time period is over; copying and merging each primary index segment in the primary index segment set into a corresponding large index segment, to obtain a large index segment set; and sending the primary index segments in the primary index segment set or the large index segments in the large index segment set to a search device to provide a search service. The present disclosure constructs the primary index segments on the basis of time, merges the constructed primary index segments into the large index segment, and provides the search service simultaneously with the primary index segments or the large index segments, thus, improving search speed.

    • The Shared Internet Storage Resource provides Internet-based file storage, retrieval, access, control, and manipulation for a user. Additionally, an easy-to-use user interface is provided both for a browser or stand-alone application. The entire method provides means by which users can establish, use, and maintain files on the Internet in a manner remote from their local computers yet in a manner that is similar to the file manipulation used on their local computers. A high capacity or other storage system is attached to the Internet via an optional internal network that also serves to generate and direct metadata regarding the stored files. A web server using a CGI, Java®-based, or other interface transmits and retrieves TCP/IP packets or other Internet information through a load balancer/firewall by using XML to wrap the data packets. File instructions may be transmitted over the Internet to the Shared Resource System. The user's account may be password protected so that only the user may access his or her files. On the user's side, a stand-alone client application or JavaScript object interpreted through a browser provide two means by which the XML or other markup language data stream may be received and put to use by the user. Internet-to-Internet file transfers may be effected by directly downloading to the user's account space.
