    • A keyboard and a keyboard circuit, wherein the keyboard acts as an input device for a portable device or a computer. The keyboard circuit comprises an interface for connecting with the computer or the portable device, a detection circuit for detecting the logic level signal of the power supply from the computer or the portable device connected to the keyboard, and a microprocessor determining whether a computer or a portable device is connected to the keyboard in accordance with the logic level signal of the power input. The keyboard circuit uses a first communication circuit to communicate with the computer and a second communication circuit to communicate with the portable device, thus the keyboard is compatible with the computer or the portable device. The keyboard is capable of entering a sleep mode after finishing the transmission of the key codes to the computer or the portable device.

    • A method for managing backlight illumination of a keyboard that is coupled to an electronic device or computer system includes placing backlights illuminating the keyboard in an on-state or an off-state according to a direction of the user's eyesight relative to the keyboard, a use state of the keyboard, and a state of a display presented to the user by the electronic device or computer system to receive input via keyboard entry. The method includes turning off at least one backlight if the user's eyesight is directed away the keyboard, if the keyboard is not in use, or if the display does not include an input element for receiving input via keyboard entry.

    • An illuminated keyboard and an illuminating method for a keyboard are disclosed. The illuminated keyboard includes an illumination module, a first sensing module, a second sensing module, and a control module. The first sensing module is used for sensing an ambient light. If the brightness of the ambient light is less then a reference brightness, the first sensing module generates a first signal. The second sensing module is used for sensing a state of touch on the illuminated keyboard and generating a second signal according to the state of touch. The control module is connected to the illumination module, the first sensing module, and the second sensing module respectively for driving the illumination module to emit light according to the first signal and the second signal.

    • A touch-sensitive interface device includes:—a touch-sensitive keypad including elements for generating a voltage as the effect of a mechanical deformation, and—a signal processing electronic interface adapted to detect pressing and/or releasing of a voltage generator elements and to go to standby after the pressing and/or the releasing of each voltage generator elements. The voltage generator elements preferably includes a piezoelectric element. In embodiments, the electronic interface includes at least one voltage comparator device, the generation of a parameterable threshold voltage to which the voltage comparator device compares the voltage at the terminals of a voltage generator element, and a card including a central processor unit and its power supply unit. The parameterable threshold voltage can be increased or decreased to detect positive and negative peaks of at least one voltage generator elements respectively caused by pressing or releasing at least one voltage generator elements.
