摘要： An assembly for installation in a refrigerator provides an enclosure for conducting service lines therethrough and an air filter unit mounted to the enclosure. The air filter unit includes an air filter housing that contains an air filter and includes openings for the ingress of air from the refrigerator which, after passing through the air filter, is discharged to the refrigerator interior through discharge openings in the air filter housing. Means such as a fan is provided to establish a flow of air through the air filter housing. The air filter unit has utility separately from the enclosure for conducting service lines in which case the air filter housing includes first and second portions that are pivotally connected to one another. The air filter within the air filter housing is supported by one of the first and second portions of the air filter housing.

摘要： In a method for air treatment in a display cabinet for the storage and/or display of objects, whose walls, floor and roof structure more or less enclose the inside space of the display cabinet and in which a forced inflow of air from an air delivery system connected to the inside space (1) of the cabinet maintains a slight excess pressure compared with the air outside it, the said airflow passes through suitable dust or gas filtration means before entering the cabinet and its air humidity is adjusted and/or controlled by means of a cooling device. After filtration, the airflow passes through a catalyser (8) present in a liquid (7), the air picks up moisture from the liquid and is rendered completely free from germs. In this manner and in a simple way, a completely germ-free atmosphere is produced inside the display cabinet. A display cabinet for implementing the method has a corresponding structure.

The refrigerator may include a main body, storage compartments provided in the main body to store food items therein, and irradiation devices that irradiate visible light into the storage compartments. The irradiation devices may switch a wavelength of irradiated light depending on the type of food items stored in the corresponding storage compartment. The refrigerator may also include a sensor that senses whether food items are stored in the storage compartments, and purification devices provided in the compartments to remove ethylene generated by the food items stored in the storage compartments.

The stirring fan assembly functions to recirculate air in order to minimize temperature stratification in the fresh food compartment. The stirring fan assembly preferably incorporates a filter to remove airborne debris and absorb odors. In accordance with one preferred embodiment of the invention, the fresh food stirring fan is operated whenever a damper controlling an inlet flow of cooling air to the fresh food compartment is in a closed position.
