摘要： According to one embodiment, a luminaire includes a lamp unit, a socket and a seal member. The lamp unit has a watertight structure, includes a light-emitting portion and a lighting circuit integrated therein, and is formed with a cap in a range where a plug electrically connected to the lighting circuit projects. The socket has a mounting portion for the cap and a terminal provided on the mounting portion. The terminal is electrically connected to the plug when the cap is coupled to the mounting portion. The seal member is attached along an outer peripheral portion of a joint surface between the cap and the mounting portion, and seals a portion between the lamp unit and the socket with a watertight condition.

In a lighting device which includes a light-emitting element containing an electroluminescence (EL) layer, a first housing is provided on a light emission surface of the light-emitting element, a metal plate and a second housing covering the metal plate are provided over a top surface of the light-emitting element, and the first housing is connected to both the metal plate and the second housing, whereby the light-emitting element is doubly sealed. Further, a depressed portion is provided for the first housing in a region in contact with the metal plate or a region in contact with the second housing through an adhesive layer; thus, adhesion between the housings is improved.

A handle includes a gripping portion that is spaced from the body so that a gripping space is defined between the gripping portion of the handle and the body. A removable bumper pad is positioned on the bottom of the body. The portable lighting device features recesses on opposite sides that are engaged by corresponding tabs on a charging rack. This prevents non-compatible lighting devices from being positioned on the charging rack.

The switch comprises an open ended housing and a sensing element received within the housing along a longitudinal axis thereof, a tip of the sensing element being substantially flush with the open end. The sensing element is coupled to the signalling device for providing an electrical path connecting the battery and the signalling device. Upon submersion of the switch into the fluid and agitation of the switch, a surface tension at an interface between the fluid and the open end is broken and fluid penetrates the housing up to a predetermined depth to enable an electrical current to flow within the sensing element for closing the electrical path and activating the signalling device.

摘要： An in-grade light fixture has a lamp compartment having an open upper end with a lens cover covering the open upper end. The lens cover may have a joint connection to permit travel from an open configuration to a closed configuration. A junction box is adjacent to the lens cover along an upper portion of the compartment. If a ballast is utilized for proper supply of power to the lamp, a ballast compartment is adjacent an open lower end of the lamp compartment. A hydraulic isolation chamber extends vertically downward from the junction box to the sealed ballast compartment. The hydraulic isolation chamber is filled with a potting material and prevents wicking of moisture into the ballast compartment.
