    • According to one embodiment, a luminaire includes a lamp unit, a socket and a seal member. The lamp unit has a watertight structure, includes a light-emitting portion and a lighting circuit integrated therein, and is formed with a cap in a range where a plug electrically connected to the lighting circuit projects. The socket has a mounting portion for the cap and a terminal provided on the mounting portion. The terminal is electrically connected to the plug when the cap is coupled to the mounting portion. The seal member is attached along an outer peripheral portion of a joint surface between the cap and the mounting portion, and seals a portion between the lamp unit and the socket with a watertight condition.

    • A lamp assembly of LED string light has a lamp module, an inner housing, an outer housing, a lower shell and a lamp cover module. The lamp module has a circuit board and an LED bulb and a set of power lines mounted on the circuit board. The inner housing has two symmetrical and engaged inner cases and a space to receive the lamp module. The outer housing has two symmetrical outer cases assembled together and encloses the inner housing. The lower shell is sleeved around a bottom portion of the inner housing. The lower shell has a multi-step portion formed on a periphery thereof for the lamp cover module to sleeve on the lower shell. Given the aforementioned elements, the lamp assembly of LED string light is easily assembled and highly waterproof and dustproof.

    • An environmentally protected switch for activating a signalling device, such as a light source, powered by a battery and adapted for use with a conductive fluid. The switch comprises an open ended housing and a sensing element received within the housing along a longitudinal axis thereof, a tip of the sensing element being substantially flush with the open end. The sensing element is coupled to the signalling device for providing an electrical path connecting the battery and the signalling device. Upon submersion of the switch into the fluid and agitation of the switch, a surface tension at an interface between the fluid and the open end is broken and fluid penetrates the housing up to a predetermined depth to enable an electrical current to flow within the sensing element for closing the electrical path and activating the signalling device.
