摘要： Disclosed is a hardening agent composition for epoxy resins in the form of powdery grains, comprising a low-reactive hardening agent, a hardening promoter, a zeolite and at least one additive selected from a water-repellent fine silica powder, a silane coupling agent and a polysiloxane compound, whereby the additive is adhered to the surfaces of the powdery grains. The composition has a retarded water-absorbing property and has improved storage stability, when blended with an epoxy resin to form a thermosetting epoxy resin composition. Methods for preparing the powdery hardening agent composition are also disclosed.

摘要： A photo-curable epoxy resin type composition which comprises (a) an epoxy resin, (b) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (i) a compound having a group, other than an imido group, which is represented by the formula --CONH and (ii) an aromatic amine, (c) an organic metal compound, where said metal is selected from the group consisting of titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, aluminum and zirconium; and (d) an organic silicon compound having at least one group selected from the group consisting of a peroxysilyl group and an o-nitrobenzyloxy group capable of forming a silanol group by irradiation with light. The photo-curable epoxy resin type composition according to this invention is capable of readily curing by light (ultraviolet ray in particular) and also capable of heat curing at a temperature of 150.degree. C. or more, and yet provides a cured product that is free of ionic impurities, does not corrode metallic materials which may be in contact with the composition, and displays excellent electrical properties.

摘要： Non-fluorinated epoxy resins of a known type are cross-linked by means of polyfunctional fluoroalkanes containing groups which are reactive with the epoxy groups and/or with the hydroxy groups present in the starting resin. The cross-linked products so obtained, having a fluorine content not higher than 15% by weight, and preferably ranging from 1% to 5%, exhibit a complex of properties which are typical of the corresponding fluorinated resins having a much higher fluorine content; in particular, oil- and water-repellency, resistance to hydrolysis and to solvents, and minimum absorption of water.

摘要： Damage tolerant composites comprising high strength filaments in the form of bundles or tows of continuous fiber and a tough phase separated, crosslinked epoxy resin matrix are disclosed. The crosslinked epoxy resin matrix comprises infusible particles made from a rubber polymer that reside primarily between piles of the composite and critically have a median particle size between 10-75 microns. Prepregs for making the damage tolerant composites and methods of making such prepregs and the epoxy resin compositions thereof are also disclosed. The epoxy resin compositions comprise the infusible particles which become segregated as to size on a surface layer of the prepreg during the process of combining the high strength filaments of the prepreg and the resin containing the epoxy resin composition.
