摘要： A generally transparent flexible packaging structure having an anti-transfer layer which, in a closed and sealed package, is at or close to an interior surface of the package. A contained food product in the package has a tendency to deposit a food product component on the interior surface of the packaging material and to thereby have a visually obscuring affect on transparency of the packaging structure. Anti-transfer material in the anti-transfer layer migrates to the interior surface of the package and interacts with the visually-obscuring component of the contained food product, thereby to attenuate or eliminate the visually obscuring effect of such component. Preferred primary polymer in the anti-transfer layer is EVA. Preferred anti-transfer materials include fatty acid esters and other amines and derivatives. The invention includes certain aspects of multiple layer packaging structures, closed and sealed packages, and methods of packaging food product.

摘要： In a container (1) of flexible material and including a tube-shaped blank divided into two opposite side walls (5) and two intermediate pairs of gusset walls (6) by means of gussets (2, 3), and having at least one block bottom (8, 9), a tightly sealed, outwardly folding discharge valve (11) is provided in the block bottom (8), said discharge valve being resealable and provided with a gripping means (16). The opening of the valve is formed by shortening a part of the floded end area to predominatly the same length as the depth (19) of the guesset (2).When manufacturing the container (1) from tubing, it is gusseted and divided into blanks corresponding to the container. Then a part of the end area of the blank is cut along a first intersection parallel and adjacent to the middle fold (7) in one of the gussets (2) when the blank is folded up, and along a second, transverse intersection (23) one gusset depth (19) apart from the fold lines (25) around which the final folding of the side walls is performed, whereupon the block botton (8) is folded, while optionally mutually glueing or welding the folded side walls. Only the parts of the block bottom (8) not in touch with the gusset walls (6) with the cutout optionally glued or welded.The resulting container with block bottom has a well functioning resealable discharge valve and is suitable for manufacture in a continuous process from an endless material without use of extra material.

摘要： A game cup and method wherein the cup comprises a waxed paper cup having a rolled lip with game information printed inside of the rolled lip in a game information area thereof. A semi-circular snap-out section, defined by a series of spaced-apart slits, is located below the game information area of the lip but spaced therefrom. To reveal the printed game information, a finger is pushed in against the snap-out section to break it away from the remainder of the cup sidewall. The snap-out section is then pulled upwardly tearing a portion of the sidewall away up to the lip, and then the snap-out section and torn portion are moved or rotated around the rolled lip so as to unroll the rolled lip and reveal the printed game information.

摘要： Apparatus is provided for automatically applying and heat-sealing a lid of thermoplastic film to the top of a cup. The film is supplied in a roll and the leading end is fed into a position between the top of the cup and a heat-sealing head. When the apparatus is run through an operating cycle, the cup and the head are brought together to seal a section of film to the rim of the cup and sever the section from the roll. The head is characterized by an annular heated cushion and a slitting device to from a slit in the center of the lid which enhances the seal, particularly if the cup contains a hot liquid. In an alternative arrangement, the slitting mechanism is located along the path of the film and the center of the head is constructed to prevent exposing the center of the lid to high temperature. A leakproof cup is provided in which a disposable cup is closed by a heat-sealed section of film that is relatively tight in the vicinity of the rim and relatively slack in the center in which a short, straight slit is formed.
