    • A child safety seat includes a seat base and a safety-belt clamping device disposed on the seat base, and is disposed to a car seat by a safety belt. The safety-belt clamping device includes a bottom seat, a rotatable clamping arm connected pivotally to an end of the bottom seat, and a retainer mounted to an opposite end of the bottom seat and retaining releasably a free end of the rotatable clamping arm thereon. The seat base has a mounting groove. The bottom seat is disposed fixedly on the seat base. The rotatable clamping arm and the retainer are disposed within the mounting groove. When the rotatable clamping arm is retained on the retainer, the safety belt is clamped between the rotatable clamping arm and two sidewalls defining the mounting groove.

    • A plurality of lock tracks on a carrier of a car seat, a slider that co-pivots with a handle of the carrier, and an actuator on the handle and moveable between lock and release positions. Each of the lock tracks defines a respective handle position. The slider is slideable between lock and release positions, and is spring-biased toward the lock position. In the slider lock position, the slider engages one of the lock tracks to secure the co-pivoting handle in the respective handle position. And in the slider release position, the slider does not engage any of the lock tracks to permit the co-pivoting handle to pivot between the handle positions. The actuator is biased toward the lock position by the spring-biased slider, and actuating the actuator from its lock position to its release position moves the slider from its lock position to its release position.

The seat belt guides direct the lap portion of the seat belt webbing across the seat base along a path such that the lap portion of the seat belt webbing interacts with the lower body of a child when the vehicle seat is occupied by a child aged three to twelve years and under 150 cm in height.

    • In at least one embodiment of the present invention, a sensor assembly for measuring tension loads by a seat belt for a vehicle is provided. The assembly comprises an anchor plate forming a first aperture for mounting. The anchor plate has a central space. A housing is positioned to envelope the anchor plate and forms a seat belt aperture. The housing has a first sensor element. Engaging the seat belt aperture is the seat belt. A compliant element causes the housing to move relative to the anchor plate in response to tension by the seat belt. Within the central space is a strain relief element having positioning features to locate the strain relief element relative to the anchor plate. The strain relief element has a second sensor element interacting with the first sensor element to produce a signal responsive to the relative position between the housing and the anchor plate.
