摘要： Disclosed herein is a cellulosic textile filament made from microfibrillar cellulose fibers and a thickening agent as well as the precursor dope for forming such filaments, nonwoven webs made from such cellulosic textile filaments and the process for forming such filaments and nonwoven webs including such filaments. One of the advantages of these filaments is the eco-sensitive way in which they are made as they utilize a water-based dope that does not require any chemical solvents unlike other processes such as those used to make Lyocell fibers. In addition, the process does not involve any washing or extraction steps and it employs a cellulosic fiber source that is broadly based and renewable.

摘要： A reusable and absorptive mat for the absorption, dispersion and retention of a liquid is disclosed. The absorptive mat comprises a plurality of non-woven layers, of carded and randomly laid viscose rayon fibres having a cross-section of substantially rigid multi-limbed configuration. The layers are stitchbonded in an as laid state, thereby substantially limiting entanglement and breaking of individual fibres. The stitchbonding is performed with a thread under limited tension so as to maintain uniformity of the absorptive mat. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing a reusable and washable article for the absorption, dispersion and retention of a liquid comprising providing a plurality of viscose rayon fibres, carding the plurality of fibres, randomly laying the carded fibres into a continuous random web structure and stitchbonding the continuous random web structure in an as laid state.

摘要： A method and apparatus for forming a wad of particulate material which may be used in an absorbent article. The apparatus may include a laydown drum having a plurality of vacuum zones, a plurality of fence zones, and a plurality of blow-off zones. The plurality of vacuum zones may be substantially permeable to permit vacuum air to pass through and into the laydown drum. The plurality of fence zones may be substantially impermeable to inhibit air to pass through. The plurality of blow-off zones may be substantially permeable to permit blown air to pass out of and through said laydown drum. The apparatus may also include a deposition chute for depositing particulate material on a web of material in close proximity to the laydown drum. A shield may also be attached to the deposition chute.
