An invasive interventional imaging device is included with an instrumentality to take a tissue biopsy from a location visible on the ultrasound subsystem for imaging, on the optical coherence tomography (OCT) subsystem for imaging, photoacoustic (PA) subsystem for imaging and florescence subsystem for imaging. The instrumentality takes a tissue biopsy from a visible location simultaneously with the visualization of the tissue about to be biopsied so that the tissue biopsy location is visualized before, during and after the biopsy.

The liquefied tissue sample may be removed from the tissue of interest. Also described are compositions of the liquefaction promoting medium that may facilitate liquefaction, preserve liquefied tissue constituents, and/or enable delivery of molecules into tissues. The sample may include tissue constituents to provide for rapid tissue sampling, tissue decontamination as well as detection of analytes. One or more drugs may be delivered through or into the tissue of interest. Determination of tissue composition in the liquefied tissue sample can be used, e.g., for diagnosis or prognosis of diseases, evaluating bioavailability of therapeutic agents in different tissues following administration, forensic detection of drugs-of-abuse, evaluating changes in the tissue microenvironment following exposure to a harmful agent, and the like.

The microwave ablation catheter includes a coaxial cable connected at its proximal end to a microwave energy source and at its distal end to a distal radiating section. The coaxial cable includes inner and outer conductors and a dielectric positioned therebetween. The inner conductor extends distally past the outer conductor and is in sealed engagement with the distal radiating section. A balun is formed in part from a conductive material electrically connected to the outer conductor of the coaxial cable and extends along at least a portion of the coaxial cable. The conductive material has a braided configuration and is covered by at least one insulative material.

摘要： A device for collecting a tissue sample includes Needle and Stylet. Needle is extending longitudinally from a proximal to a distal end and includes a lumen extending therethrough. Stylet is movably housed in the lumen and extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal to a distal end and includes a scooper at the distal end thereof. The scooper is connected to a proximal portion of Stylet via a hinge biased toward a bent position in which the scooper is bent away from the longitudinal axis. Stylet is movable between a constrained configuration and a tissue-collecting configuration. The scooper includes a channel extending longitudinally therethrough and a window extending laterally through a wall thereof in communication with the channel to collect a tissue sample therethrough as Stylet is moved from the tissue-collecting to the constrained.
