摘要： The present invention is directed to a latch assembly for a dishwasher including a door having a front surface and a back surface and a tub. The latch assembly includes a bolt secured to the door. The bolt has a catch including a ramp surface facing toward the tub. An actuator is slidably connected to the bolt. A switch is secured to the bolt such that movement of the actuator may selectively close the switch. A handle is moveably mounted to the bolt in a position for access from the front surface of the door. A strike plate is connected to the tub and includes a forward latching portion extending outwardly from the tub toward the rear surface of the door. The strike plate flexes vertically to deflect up over the latch when the door moves toward a closed. The strike plate may be released from the latch by upwardly moving the handle such a drive surface of the handle engages a drive shoulder of the actuator moving the actuator upwardly wherein the actuator forces the latching portion of the strike plate upwardly until the strike plate clears the catch of the bolt.

摘要： A mechanism for use in latching a pivotable access door of a cabinet includes a latch housing within which is rotatably mounted a catch member between latching and unlatching positions upon a carrier which, in turn, is rotatably supported in the latch housing. The carrier is biased into engagement with a cam pin which acts as a pivot stop for the carrier. A cross pin extends through a pair of laterally spaced slots formed in the latch housing and terminal ends of the cross pin are adapted to depress electronic switches through movement of the carrier when the latching mechanism assumes the latched position. The catch member is rotated to the latching position upon engagement with a latch striker and can be rotated to release the latch striker, in accordance with various embodiments of the invention, either through the use of a handle or upon tugging on the access door.

摘要： A latch for a warewasher effects manual movement of a bolt between a retracted position which permits the door to be fully closed and an extended position which either latchingly engages a keeper to secure the door in the closed position, or abuttingly engages the keeper to prevent the door from being inadvertently fully closed. In addition to manual operation, the latch is operated by gravity to extend the bolt from its retracted to its extended position as the door of the warewasher is moved from a horizontal opened position to a vertical position. In this way, the bolt of the latch is extended to abut the keeper of a warewasher if the door is simply moved from the horizontal opened position to the vertical position, but may be easily and quickly closed by manual operation of the latch to retract the bolt followed by complete closure of the door, and then extension of the bolt to secure the door in the fully-closed position. Similarly, gravity operates the latch to retract the bolt from its extended to its retracted position as the door of the warewasher is moved from the vertical position to the horizontal opened position. The automatic retraction of the bolt as the door is moved to its horizontal opened position lessens the possibility of catching the bolt by means of apparel or other articles moved within the room housing the warewasher.

摘要： An interlock switch comprises a standard snap action switch, provided with an actuating leaf, coiled at one end and fixed to the switch housing at the other end. In one application the switch is to be actuated by a door latch handle which passes between an open and a closed position by engaging the coiled actuating leaf. The leaf is initially coiled such that the coil is engaged by the latch handle early in its travel. When the latch handle is closed for the first time, the coil is unrolled to a closed coil position at the closed position of the latch handle. When the latch handle returns to the open positon, the coil re-rolls only slightly to a new open coil position displaced a short distance from the closed coil position. The coil is thus positioned so that in subsequent latch handle closings, the coil is not engaged until the latch handle approaches the closed position.

摘要： A dishwasher has a cabinet which defines a cavity, an access opening into the cavity, and a door for said opening. A washing fluid reservoir in the cabinet beneath the cavity holds washing fluid for the dishwasher. A drain for the washing fluid reservoir is manually operable between open and closed conditions when the door is open. The drain is also interlocked with a door on the cabinet which covers the access opening such that when the door is closed, the drain, if previously open, is automatically moved to its closed condition to ready the reservoir for filling. Thus, attempting to fill the reservoir with the drain open will be effectively prevented.
