摘要： An oral care system comprising an oral care implement, such as a toothbrush, and dispenser containing a fluid detachably coupled to the toothbrush. In one embodiment, the dispenser includes a reservoir containing a fluid and a rotatable actuator for dispensing the fluid from the dispenser; and the dispenser is alterable between: (i) a storage state in which the dispenser is detachably coupled to the toothbrush and a mechanical interference between a portion of the rotatable actuator and a portion of the toothbrush prohibits rotation of the rotatable actuator relative to the toothbrush; and (ii) an application state in which a user can rotate the rotatable actuator to dispense the fluid from the dispenser.

A shaft (44) within the brush handle is advanced toward the brush head (4), causing a plunger (43) to abut a movable seal or end wall (2) of the cartridge (10). As the plunger (43) advances toward the head (4), the flowable contents (14) of the cartridge (10) are emptied and delivered to through a series of orifices (7) to the brush bristles (5, 6).

The head of the plunger is dimensioned to achieve a substantially gapless interface inside the hollow compartment for pushing the toothpaste into the bore and out from the apertures. The locking member is secured over the stem of plunger for preventing it from being accidentally pushed into the hollow compartment before using the toothbrush. In order to use the toothbrush, first the locking member is removed. Then the plunger is pushed into the hollow compartment to extract the toothpaste out from the plurality of apertures and on to the bristles.

摘要： The present invention provides a travel toothbrush with a toothpaste dispenser. The handle has a toothpaste chamber defined in the handle, the chamber having a proximal opening adjacent a brush head and a distal opening at the free end of the handle. The distal opening is adapted for loading toothpaste into the toothpaste chamber and accommodating a plunger. The brush head is removably attached to the handle, and has a conduit communicating with the proximal end of the handle chamber, the conduit terminating in a discharge opening beneath the bristles. A resilient flapper valve is disposed in the brush head conduit, and is normally open so that the plunger may be used to force toothpaste through the handle onto the bristles. The toothbrush is provided with a removable cap having a stopper that slides into an axial bore in the brush head to force the flapper valve into a closed position.

摘要： The method of the present invention is directed to the storage and dispensing of a peroxide containing tooth whitening composition. During storage and subsequent use the composition in the storage chamber must be maintained segregated from the applicator surface. This is accomplished by delivering the peroxide containing tooth whitening composition from the storage chamber through a delivery channel having a length and a cross-sectional diameter sufficient to preclude the migration of moisture and the enzyme catalase from the application surface to the storage chamber. The composition is applied to teeth by means of bristles, a sponge surface or fibrillated surface. This applicator can be used with both aqueous and non-aqueous peroxide containing tooth whitening compositions.
