    • The present invention allows administrators of conference equipment, remotely localized from the ordinary managing interface, to execute simple commands for solving a problem that may have occurred during a conference or at conference set up. This is provided by a parser translating user terminal commands transmitted from the user terminal (e.g. a cellular phone) of the system administrator to Conference Management System codes, which are executed on the conference equipment in question from the Conference Management System. The present invention also allows system administrators to be alerted by a message (e.g. SMS) at any errors occurring during a conference or conference set up, and to correct the errors by responding to the alert without the need of addressing the equipment in which the errors occur.

    • The invention is related to video compression systems, and in particular to compression/decompression in digital video systems. The present invention discloses a method for compensating the rounding and truncation error when calculating ½ and ¼ position pixels for motion vector prediction. According to the invention, the rounding/truncation offset is attenuated by properly shifting up or down the result of the calculation of the ½ position pixel values. A method alternating occurrences of converting up and converting down interpolated pixel values to nearest integers in the cases where the pixel values are decimals with fractions of 0.5. In a preferred embodiment, each motion vector is assigned either a first or a second notation, so that converting up or down in a predicted block depends on the assignment of the motion vector corresponding to the prediction block. The present invention is particularly useful in the coding standard H.264/AVC.

    • The present invention relates to managing and scheduling videoconferences. It introduces a novel mechanism for scheduling a virtual resource connected to an individual or a group of individuals. The virtual resource is associated to one or more conference systems in a conference management system, and an entity representing the virtual re-source is displayed in a conventional resource planning application (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) allowing a user to investigate if the virtual resource, i.e. at least one of the conference systems, is free or busy. The user is then able to schedule a conference with the resource by a familiar scheduling interface, and without having to know with which alternative conference systems the individual or group of individuals connected to the virtual resource is associated.
