摘要： A connector for coaxial cable is disclosed herein that has an outer body and a clamp insert. The clamp insert is mounted at the rear of the body and accepts an end of a coaxial cable. Both the front and rear ends of the insert are deformed radially inwardly when the body and the insert and compressed so as to grip the coaxial cable and form a seal. A related method for connecting the coaxial cable and connector is also disclosed.

摘要： An electrical connector having a front end for attachment to a terminal and a back end for attachment to a coaxial cable includes a body, a post mounted within the body; and a contact assembly movably mounted within the post. The contact assembly includes a guide, a pin mounted to the guide, and a clip mounted to the pin for making electrical and mechanical contact with the center conductor of the coaxial cable. The contact assembly moves longitudinally toward the front end of the connector, such that the front end of the pin moves from a first position completely within the body to a second position at least partially protruding from the body, as the connector receives the coaxial cable. The guide has an opening for the center conductor, which is viewable to a user during attachment until the center conductor enters the opening.

The tubular grip element includes an outer surface for being grasped by a user, and an internal bore for extending over the connector body. The tubular grip element is axially-slidable for being axially advanced to extend over, and fixedly engage, an outer surface portion of the nut, simultaneously with axial compression of the connector over an end of a coaxial cable. The tubular grip element has an axial length exceeding that of the nut to make the nut more accessible.

The present coaxial connector accommodates coaxial cables with larger amounts of braided shielding. A related method for connecting the coaxial cable and connector is also disclosed.

摘要： A blindmate interconnect coaxial connector includes a center conductor, a thermally-conductive dielectric surrounding the center conductor, and an outer tubular conductor surrounding the dielectric. The dielectric transfers heat from the center conductor to the outer conductor, and the outer conductor includes heat transfer fins to radiate such heat. The center conductor is formed by first and second halves which mate within the axial bore of the dielectric. The outer conductor is formed of two mating sections. The center conductor and surrounding dielectric are inserted within the first mating section, and the second mating section is then mated with the first section to complete the assembly of the connector.

The connector includes a coupler having an annnular collar, a body member, one end of which includes a deformable lip inserted with elastic deformation through the collar opening, and a post. In a cable-installed position, the post is received in the body member to form an annular chamber sufficiently narrow in the cable-installed position to compress the outer conductor and the jacket for establishing a distal seal. Tightening of the coupler to the terminal compresses the lip between the post flange and the annular collar for establishing a proximal seal.
