The anti-reflection layer is composed of a plurality of overlaid layers, and at least one of the layers being a transparent electroconductive layer and the other layers are transparent insulating layers.

摘要： A magneto-resistive type read head has a substrate, a magnetic film exhibiting a magneto-resistive effect arranged in the widthwise direction of the track of a magnetic writing disk, and lead electrodes for feeding an electric current to the track width portion of the magnetic film for reading the signals written in the magnetic writing disk. The magneto-resistive film extends over a width wider than the track width portion and a soft magnetic thin film is formed over the magneto-resistive film on either side of the track width portion to absorb the domain wall so that the magneto-resistive film takes the single domain structure.

摘要： An optical device and an optical integrated circuit which incorporate an optical switch and have a novel function. Light sources are respectively coupled to two input ends of an X-type 2.times.2 optical switch, and light receivers are respectively coupled to two output ends of the optical switch, thereby obtaining an optical device which is capable of performing both AND and OR logics. A light source is coupled to one input end of an optical switch, and a light receiver is provided at one output end from which the light emitted from the light source emerges when no electric power is supplied to the optical switch, whereby it is possible to construct a system in which, even when one terminal has a power failure, there is no hindrance to other terminals. If an optical switch is arranged such as to use driving electric power as a modulating signal, the optical switch can serve as a modulator in which the output from one output end can be employed to monitor a modulated optical signal. In addition, if the optical switch is formed into, e.g., a carrier injection type optical switch using a semiconductor, the above-described devices can be fabricated as integrated circuit.

摘要： A ferromagnetic material is composed of an iron alloy which contains 2 to 12% by weight of silicon and 5 to 25% by weight of at least one element selected from the group consisting of ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, iridium, platinum, gold and silver. This ferromagnetic material exhibits a high saturation flux density and good corrosion resistance. Excellent magnetic characteristics are obtained by a multilayered film which is obtained by alternatingly laminating the above ferromagnetic material and a spacer layer composed of other material. Further, a markedly increased recording density is exhibited by a magnetic head for perpendicular magnetic recording, when the end of the main pole is composed of the ferromagnetic material.
