摘要： The present invention provides a method for use in a wireless communication system that supports orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) of transmissions over a plurality of subcarriers. One embodiment of the method includes a network entity that allocates one or more of a plurality of sub-bands for communication with an access terminal. Each of the sub-bands includes one or more of the subcarriers and is associated with a corresponding a pseudo-random sequences. The network entity can also transmit one or more of the plurality of pseudo-random sequences over an air interface. The transmitted pseudo-random sequence indicate the sub-bands that are allocated for communication with the access terminal.

摘要： A method of remotely treating malicious mobile terminals connected to a mobile communications network. In one embodiment, when a malicious mobile terminal is detected by the intrusion-detection services of the network, the network changes the subscriber profile associated with the mobile terminal to operate the latter in a quarantine mode. The packet-switched subsystem of the network then links the quarantined mobile terminal to a remediation manager. The remediation manager remotely treats the mobile terminal, e.g., to repair or reinstall any corrupted software, terminate any active malicious processes, delete or quarantine any malware, and restore the operating system, configuration, and/or memory of the mobile terminal to a clean operational state. After the treatment, the network reverts the subscriber profile back to the initial state and removes the mobile terminal from the quarantine.

A method for mobility management includes detecting, at a first base station, a request by a wireless device to establish an association with the first base station where the first base station comprises a mobile base station, updating an association table of the first base station to include an association of the wireless device to the first base station, and propagating, toward a second base station, a message adapted to update an association table of the second base station, wherein the second base station is a mobile base station, wherein the message is propagated toward the second base station wirelessly. The packet routing functions of the present invention may be used independent of, or in conjunction with, the mobility management functions of the present invention.

摘要： Improvements are provided in an OFDM network that uses superposition coding. A broadcast signal and e.g. a unicast signal are each subjected to OFDM modulation including processing by an IDFT, combined, and transmitted using non-orthogonal transmission resources. In one approach, the respective signals are combined after instead of before the IDFT processing. In specific examples, a respective cyclic prefix is appended to each signal after the IDFT processing but before the respective signals are combined. In another approach, a broadcast pilot signal and e.g. a unicast pilot signal are transmitted concurrently with the broadcast and unicast information signals. The pilot signals are transmitted using the same time and subcarrier resources, but are made more distinguishable by combining each with a respective scrambling or spreading code. In specific examples, embodiments, the unicast pilot signal is used for estimating the data rate for transmission of further unicast information signals.
