    • A method and apparatus for adjusting parallax of a three-dimensional (3D) video are provided. The method including receiving an input of a 3D video sequence; determining whether a scene transition occurs between a previous frame and a current frame of the 3D video sequence; if it is determined that the scene transition occurs between the previous frame and the current frame, determining and comparing first depth information of a previous scene which includes the previous frame and second depth information of a current scene which includes the current frame; and, based on a result of the comparing, selectively adjusting depth information of at least one of the frames of the previous scene and the frames of the current scene in consideration of a difference between the first depth information and the second depth information.

    • Provided is a three-dimensional (3D) image display apparatus and method including: a display; a photographing unit including a camera, a first light source disposed on an axis identical to a camera axis and a second light source disposed on an axis different from the camera axis, which takes a photograph of an observer using light emitted from the first and second light sources, and generates first and second images; an eye information detection unit which detects eye information of the observer based on the first and second images and determines a position of the observer based on the detected eye information; and a 3D image adjustment unit which adjusts a 3D image, which will be displayed on the display, based on the determined position of the observer.

    • Provided are an apparatus and method for processing a three-dimensional (3D) video signal which corrects first and second video signals to prevent a reduction in a 3D effect and a disparity estimation error due to a difference between the first and second video signals. The method includes: a video signal detection unit detecting a difference between respective characteristics of received first and second video signals; and a video signal correction unit correcting the first video signal or the second video signal to equalize the characteristics of the first and second video signals. When the apparatus and the method are used, a reduction in the 3D effect and the disparity estimation error due to the difference between the first and second video signals can be prevented.

    • A high resolution autostereoscopic display includes: a backlight; a display panel forming an image using the backlight light; a viewing zone separator separating viewing zones of right and left eye images of the display panel; a polarizer polarizing the light from the display panel into first polarized light; a polarization switch converting the first polarized light into second polarized light that is polarized in a different direction; and a birefringent plate including a refractive index that varies consistent with the polarization of incident light. Images corresponding to odd and even numbered column fields are formed with the first and second polarized light, time-sequentially. The birefringent plate shifts the second polarized light with respect to the first. A three-dimensional image with the full resolution of the display panel is formed by images corresponding to an odd-numbered and even-numbered column field with the first and shifted second polarized light, respectively.
