    • A disclosed paging method includes a random access channel generating step of, when a group including an own station is being paged based on a paging indicator channel (PICH) transmitted from a base station apparatus, generating a random access channel (RACH) including information indicating a response to the paging indicator channel (PICH) by a mobile station apparatus; a transmitting step of transmitting the random access channel (RACH) by the mobile station apparatus; a random access channel detecting step of detecting the random access channel (RACH) as the response to the paging indicator channel (PICH) by the base station apparatus; a paging information generation determining step of determining whether paging information is to be generated based on a detection result of the random access channel (RACH); and a paging information generating step of generating paging information based on the determination result.

    • A base station communicates with a user device transmitting an uplink signal based on a single-carrier transmission scheme. The base station includes a frequency hopping determining unit configured to determine whether to apply frequency hopping to the user device based on radio-wave propagation information from the user device and a traffic type of data to be transmitted by the user device; a scheduler configured to allocate frequencies to the user device based on uplink channel reception conditions of the user device; and a reporting unit configured to report allocation information indicating resource units allocated by the scheduler to the user device. When the frequency hopping determining unit determines to apply the frequency hopping to the user device, the scheduler allocates, to the user device, resource units with different frequency bands in different slots.

    • A transmitting apparatus which transmits a transmit symbol in orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is disclosed. The transmitting apparatus includes a unit which provides a unicast channel; a unit which provides a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) channel; a unit which provides a specific pilot channel which is specific to a specified cell; a unit which provides one or more common pilot channels common to a plurality of cells; and a multiplexing unit which multiplexes the unicast channel, the MBMS channel, the specific pilot channel, and the one or more common pilot channels, and creates the transmit symbol, wherein the multiplexing unit time-division multiplexes, in the same frequency band, a unicast frame which includes the unicast channel, and an MBMS frame which includes the MBMS channel, and wherein an insertion density of the common pilot channel included in the MBMS frame is larger than an insertion density of the specific pilot channel included in the unicast frame.
