An apparatus includes a video encoder (300) for encoding picture data for at least a block in a picture by selecting a spatially varying encoding method for a residue corresponding to a difference between an original version of the block and at least one reference block. One or more transforms are used to transform a portion of the block and a remaining area of the block is encoded using an alternate encoding method with respect to the one or more transforms or is not encoded.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for improved entropy encoding and decoding. An apparatus includes a video encoder for encoding at least a block in a picture by transforming a residue of the block to obtain transform coefficients, quantizing the transform coefficients to obtain quantized transform coefficients, and entropy coding the quantized transform coefficients. The quantized transform coefficients are encoded using a flag to indicate that a current one of the quantized transform coefficients being processed is a last non-zero coefficient for the block having a value greater than or equal to a specified value.

摘要： Various implementations provide filtering for pictures. Several such implementations attempt to reduce artifacts caused by over-filtering in a decoding loop. Certain of these implementations provide multiple loop filters, and select a loop filter based on the result of a deblocking 5 filter. One particular implementation applies a first filter to a picture to produce a filtered picture. A second filter is selected based on a difference between a value of a particular pixel in the filtered picture and a value of a corresponding pixel in the picture. The second filter is applied to the particular pixel in the filtered picture. In another implementation, a signal or signal structure includes 10 an indication of the second filter, an encoding of at least a portion of a picture, and an encoding of at least a portion of a subsequent picture that has been encoded based on the output of the second filter above.

摘要： Articles and methods for forming nanostructures having unique and/or predetermined shapes are provided. The methods and articles may involve the use of nucleic acid containers as structural molds. For instance, a pre-designed nucleic acid container including a cavity may be used to control the shape-specific growth of nanoparticles. Growth of the nanoparticles within the cavities may be confined by the specific shape of the nucleic acid container. In some embodiments, the resulting nucleic acid-nanoparticle structures can be used to control the orientation and numbers of surface ligands on the surface of nanoparticles. The addressability of the surface ligands can be used to form higher ordered assemblies of the structures.

摘要： There are provided method and apparatus for local illumination and color compensation without explicit signaling. An apparatus includes an encoder for encoding a picture by enabling at least one of color compensation and illumination compensation of at least one color component of a prediction for an image block of the picture without using explicit signaling. The method comprises at least the step of enabling the encoding of a picture described above in the apparatus, again without use of explicit signaling. In the description of an specific embodiment, this enabling of the color compensation and the illumination compensation is based on at least one of a group of pixels and a local signal block corresponding to the picture. Similar descriptions are provided for a method and apparatus for decoding the signal the encoded signal. There are provided method and apparatus for local illumination and color compensation without explicit signaling. An apparatus includes an encoder for encoding a picture by enabling at least one of color compensation and illumination compensation of at least one color component of a prediction for an image block of the picture without using explicit signaling. The method comprises at least the step of enabling the encoding of a picture described above in the apparatus, again without use of explicit signaling. In the description of an specific embodiment, this enabling of the color compensation and the illumination compensation is based on at least one of a group of pixels and a local signal block corresponding to the picture. Similar descriptions are provided for a method and apparatus for decoding the signal the encoded signal.
