摘要： The present invention relates to a composition for coating optical fibers that includes an oligomeric component present in an amount of about 15 weight percent or less and a monomeric component present in an amount of about 75 weight percent or more, where the cured product of the composition has a Young's modulus of at least about 650 MPa. When the composition is substantially devoid of the oligomeric component, the monomeric component preferably includes two or more monomers. Also disclosed are the cured products of the compositions of the present invention, optical fibers that contain secondary coatings prepared from the compositions of the present invention, methods of making such optical fibers, as well as fiber optic ribbons containing a matrix prepared from the compositions of the present invention. The invention further relates to a composition for coating optical fibers that includes an oligomeric component present in an amount of more than about 15 weight percent and a monomeric component present in an amount of less than about 82 weight percent, where the cured product of the composition has a Young's modulus of at least about 900 MPa.

摘要： A method of making a retroreflective marking material is provided, the method has the steps of: (a) providing an enclosed-lens retroreflective sheet having a top surface and a bottom surface and comprising a cover layer and a monolayer of retroreflective elements; (b) applying a conformance layer to the bottom surface of the retroreflective sheet; and (c) laminating a configuration member to the conformance layer thereby creating first portions and second portions in the sheet, the first portions being arranged in an upwardly contoured profile and the second portions being arranged in a lower, substantially planar position. A retroreflective article made by the method is also provided.

摘要： A roof product has a thermal heat storage layer, a vent layer with channels for transferring excess heat through a length of the roof product, and a flame retardant to suppress fire through the vent layer. These three materials form a unitary structure. The roof product may have a radiant layer, the thermal heat storage layer and the vent layer to form the unitary structure. The roof products are assembled in an abutting configuration on the roof of a building. The vent layer vents excess heat from an eave of the roof up to a ridge of the roof and out to atmosphere. The roof products manage thermal energy in the roof by storing thermal heat with the unitary roof product during a heating cycle; venting excess heat through the unitary product; and releasing the stored thermal heat from the unitary product into or out of the building during a cooling cycle.

The bio-asphalt can be formed by mixing a bio-source material with a liquid catalyst. Particles can be added to the asphalt mixture. In an embodiment, the bitumen source material can have a softening point of at least approximately 93° C. and a penetration distance no greater than approximately 25 dmm. In another embodiment, the roofing-grade asphalt mixture can have a softening point of at least approximately 104° C., a penetration distance no greater than approximately 12 dmm, a viscosity of at least approximately 3000 cps at a temperature of 204° C., or any combination thereof. The asphalt mixture can be applied to a base material to form a roofing product. The asphalt mixture can be applied as a pavement product.

The shingles are generally rigid and are provided with upwardly protruding moisture guards on the upper surfaces of their headlap portions, for guarding against wind-blown moisture entering fastener locations at which fasteners are used to attach shingles to a roof. The moisture guards may be of various configurations and by either completely or incompletely surround the fastener locations. Shields having recesses for receiving moisture guards therein, or other downward projections, may be provided at under surface locations of the shingles in cooperative engagement for further protection against moisture penetration and for facilitating alignment of shingles relative to other shingles.
