摘要： The film holder comprises a plurality of holder elements. Adjacent holder elements are connected to each other by a pin, so that the holder elements can be pivoted. A film engaging groove is formed on a side of each of the holder elements. The film engaging grooves are aligned with each other such that a peripheral edge of the film is engaged. The holder elements being rotatable while the film engaging grooves maintain a curvilinear alignment, allows the film to be smoothly curved, and the size of the image reading device, to which the film holder is mounted, to be reduced.

摘要： An image signal reading operation control device has an electro-developing recording medium to electronically develop an image formed by a photographing optical system. The image is read out by a line sensor with the electro-developing recording medium being illuminated by a light source. Namely, pixel signals arranged along a horizontal scanning line are read by the line sensor while the line sensor is set at a predetermined position, and then the line sensor is moved in a direction perpendicular to the horizontal scanning line by a predetermined amount. When the image is read out by the line sensor, the light source is displaced along the longitudinal direction of the line sensor.

摘要： An absorbent member in an absorbent article comprises a absorbent polymer and cellulose fibers. The absorbent polymer has a centrifugal retentive capacity for physiological saline of 30 g/g or more and a permeation rate of physiological saline of 10 ml/minute or more. The cellulose fibers are crosslinked cellulose fibers obtainable by an intramolecular and/or intermolecular crosslinking of the cellulose fibers. Particularly, an absorbent member in a sanitary napkin has a centrifugal retentive capacity of pseudo-blood of 30 g or more and a permeation rate of pseudo-blood of 50 ml/minute or more. Also, a topsheet in the absorbent article comprises a liquid-permeable sheet, which comprises at least a layer in contact with a user's skin and a layer not in contact with the user's skin, the layers being overlaid and combined with each other into a unitary body. The layer in contact with the user's skin comprises a porous film of a thermoplastic resin or a nonwoven fabric of synthetic fibers. The layer not in contact with the user's skin comprises an absorbent sheet, which comprises at least bulky cellulose fibers. The absorbent member and the topsheet should preferably comprise crosslinked cellulose fibers.

摘要： An image reader reads an object image recorded on a flexible light-transmissible recording medium formed in the shape of an elongated web. A curved guide member guides the recording medium, and has at least an arcuate portion formed as a light-transmissible area. A light source is provided at one side of the arcuate portion, for illuminating the object image with light rays emitted from the light source. An image sensor is provided at the other side of the arcuate portion, and is aligned with the light source to receive the light rays passing through the object image. Thus, the image sensor optically and electronically senses the object image. A drive mechanism moves both the light source and the image sensor along the arcuate portion so that the object image is scanned with both the light source and the image sensor.

In a preferred embodiment, the input circuit includes an oscillator responsive to the input signal. When the input signal has a higher frequency than a predetermined frequency, the input signal is supplied as the first pulse signal at a frequency equal to te frequency of the input signal. When the input signal has a lower frequency than the predetermined frequency, the first pulse signal is supplied at the predetermined frequency.
