摘要： An X-wrapped metallic honeycomb body is provided for carrying thereon an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst. The honeycomb body has been constructed using at least two stacks each of which comprises planar band(s) and corrugated band(s) made from metal sheets and alternately stacked into a desired number of layers. Each of the stacks has a notched fitting portion so that the stacks are mutually fitted together at the notched fitting portions thereof. The stacks have been rolled in the same direction about the notched fitting portions thereof as a central axis of the rolling formation.

As a result, at least an inside wall surface of the inner stainless steel pipe has a diffused layer of at least one kind of metal, or an alloy of two or more kinds ,of metals in combination, selected from the group consisting of Ni, Cr, Mo, Co, Al and Cu.

摘要： A multi-walled steel pipe comprises a metal strip plated with copper and including a brazing layer thereon. At least one surface of the metal strip is roughened and braze welded to the other, overlapping surface when the metal strip is rolled. The roughened surface has a roughness in the range of between 10 and 30.mu.m. A method of making a multi-walled steel pipe comprises roughening at least one surface of a metal strip, the metal strip being previously plated with copper and including a brazing layer thereon, rolling the metal strip a plurality of times by a pipe forming machine to provide a pipe body with the roughened surface directed toward the other overlapping surface, while the metal strip being fed between a plurality of sets of rollers in the pipe forming machine, and heating the pipe body to a melting temperature of the brazing layer in a furnace so as to braze weld the overlapping surfaces of the metal strip together.

摘要： There is disclosed a method of fabricating a double pipe capable of attenuating vibration. The pipe can be used in an automobile exhaust system. The method is initiated with forming a coating either on the outer surface of an inner pipe or on the inner surface of the outer pipe. The coating is made from an epoxy resin, an acrylic resin, or other resin. The inner pipe is inserted into the outer pipe, and then they are brought into intimate contact with each other via the coating to couple them together. The coupled pipes are heated beyond 400.degree. C.

摘要： A structure for connecting a branch pipe in a high-pressure fuel manifold employs a nut to fasten the branch pipe to a main pipe, the nut having threaded surfaces which are simultaneously brought into thread engagement with the branch pipe and a coupling member which is secured to the main pipe in such a manner as to surround the peripheral wall thereof. Therefore, it becomes unnecessary to conduct a welding operation which has heretofore been needed to connect the joint portion of the branch pipe to the main pipe. The connecting structure satisfactorily endures ultra-high fluid pressure even under vibrations. In addition, there is no fear of fuel leaking out through the joint nor risk of the branch pipe coming off.
