    • The invention aims at providing a crane equipped with an inspection device that can maintain excellent inspection conditions without decreasing cargo transporting efficiency. On a container transporting route of a quay crane, a truck (position adjustment device), is provided moveably in a direction across this transporting route. An inspection device, which inspects the container, is provided on this truck. An upper part frame, which projects above the inspection device, and a lower part frame, which projects under the inspection device, are provided on the truck. An upside position detector, which detects the relative position of the container and the inspection device in the direction of movement of the truck, is provided in a position higher than that of the inspection device of the upper frame. A control device is provided, which controls operation of the position adjustment device based on detection results of the upside position detector so that the inspection device and the container are positioned appropriately for inspection.

    • An optometric apparatus includes a luminous flux projecting unit for projecting a luminous flux to one eye of a subject to be measured, an imaging unit for imaging an anterior part of the eye illuminated by the luminous flux projecting unit, a position detecting unit for detecting the position of the eye in accordance with an image output from the imaging unit, an optometric unit for measuring the eye, a drive unit for driving the optometric unit, and a control unit for controlling the drive unit. The control unit controls the drive unit to align the optometric unit with the eye in accordance with a signal output from the position detecting unit and then controls the drive unit to move the optometric unit to the other eye of the subject when the measurement of the one eye by the optometric unit is completed.

    • A non-contact tonometer has a fluid projecting device for compressing fluid in a compression chamber and projecting the fluid to the cornea of an eye to be examined located at a predetermined distance therefrom. The fluid injecting device is capable of selecting a first range as a pressurizing range for measurement of intraocular tension and a second range including a value higher in the degree of pressurization relative to the first range. The tonometer also includes a measuring device for detecting a predetermined deformation of the cornea of the eye to be examined caused by the compressed fluid and measuring the value of the intraocular tension of the eye to be examined, a change-over device for changing over the pressurizing range for measurement of intraocular tension between the first range and the second range, a state detecting device for effecting at least one of the detection of the fact that measurement is impossible by the measuring device and the detection of the replacement of the eye to be examined by another eye, and a control device for operating the change-over device on the basis of at least one of the output of the state detecting device and the measured value measured by the measuring device.

    • A method of mounting a torque converter on a transmission comprises the steps of setting the transmission to have the tubular members extending horizontally, holding the torque converter by holding means which is movable in vertical and horizontal directions, positioning the torque converter to cause an imaginary axis of a turbine runner in the torque converter to coincide with a common imaginary axis of two coaxial tubular members in the transmission, moving the torque converter toward the transmission in the horizontal direction so as to engage an engaging portion of the turbine runner with an end portion of an inner one of two coaxial tubular members of the transmission, positioning further the torque converter to cause an imaginary axis of a stator in the torque converter to coincide with the common imaginary axis of two tubular members; and moving further the torque converter toward the transmission in the horizontal direction so as to engage an engaging portion of the stator with an end portion of an outer one of two tubular members of the transmission.
