摘要： Disclosed is a handoff method connected with resource allocation in order to prevent QoS degradation, which may occur during or before/after a handoff on account of channel state change resulting from the mobility of a radio communication apparatus. To this end, a serving base station currently-connected to the radio communication apparatus and a target base station to be connected after a handoff periodically or non-periodically measure uplink/downlink channel states in relation to the radio communication apparatus, and the target base station allocates resources (e.g., time slot, specific subcarrier, or specific frequency band) most suitable for the service requested from the radio communication apparatus during a handoff, thereby preventing QoS degradation due to the handoff. In addition, in the case of a radio communication apparatus using multiple antennas, the serving base station notifies the target base station of a multi-antenna operation mode in relation to the radio communication apparatus before finishing a handoff procedure, thereby minimizing QoS degradation due to the handoff.

The system includes a base station for determining encoded data processing procedure based on first and second channel state information, determining a relaying procedure of the relay station, and sending the relaying procedure to the relay station based on the first and second channel state information; wherein the encoded data is terminating to a mobile station; the relay station for receiving data and the relay procedure which the base station sent, converting and sending the data according to the relaying procedure, and sending the first channel state information to the base station as a measured state of channel which receives the data; and the mobile station for receiving the data which the relay station sent, and sending the second channel state information to the relay station as a measured state of channel which receives the data.

In the broadband wireless communication system, a base station includes: a grouping unit for grouping mobile stations by using information on a movement path of each mobile station and information on a received signal strength of a neighboring base station, thereby constituting at least one group; a controller for modifying hystereses of remaining mobile stations among the mobile stations belonging to the same group, if a predetermined number of mobile stations perform handovers; and a transmitter for transmitting a message including modified hysteresis information to the remaining mobile stations belonging to the group.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for reducing a handover delay in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. In a method for operating a terminal to reduce a handover delay in a broadband wireless communication system, a handover procedure is performed with a serving Base Station (BS) to obtain a dedicated ranging code and a Connection ID (CID). The dedicated ranging code is transmitted to one or more target BSs using the CID. Whether the dedicated ranging code is received is determined. Therefore, a handover delay and a chance of malfunction can be reduced.
