摘要： An optoelectronic package or sub-assembly includes an edge-emitting laser and a reflector that directs a beam from the laser through a sub-mount. The sub-mount contains passive or active circuit elements that are electrically connected to the laser. The laser can be protected from the environment using either a cap in which the reflector is integrated or using an encapsulant encasing the laser. An alignment post that is sized to fit into a sleeve is mounted where the optical signal emerges from the sub-mount. Plugging the post into one end of the sleeve and inserting an optical fiber into the other end of the sleeve so that the optical fiber abuts the post will then align the optical fiber to receive the optical signal.

摘要： A medical catheter having an elongate body, a first expandable balloon and a filter assembly. The filter assembly includes an expandable filter having a first portion coupled to a portion of the medical catheter and a second portion positioned around at least a portion of the first expandable balloon to form a channel between the filter assembly and the first expandable balloon. The filter assembly can further include struts coupled to the second portion of the expandable filter, where the struts tether the second portion of the expandable filter to the elongate body adjacent the proximal end of the first expandable balloon. The first expandable balloon can be used in procedures to dilate blood vessels, including those that deploy stents, where the expandable filter assembly captures particles, including embolic particles, from the blood during the procedure.

The hot zone has an outer supporting wall and an inner insulating wall surrounded by a new HEFVAC high density, high strength, low conductivity and low moisture-sensitive graphite insulation board ring connected in a unique z-shaped arrangement that contains radiant energy within the hot zone during the heat treating cycle. The hot zone further includes heating elements made of high quality graphite for increased thermal efficiency of the furnace. Also included in the hot zone are lower mass, tapered graphite nozzles that can sustain high pressure gas flow and decrease conductive heat losses from the nozzles to the hot zone chamber outer supporting wall during the heat treating cycle.

The method comprises establishing uplink service beams and downlink service beams between a satellite and a plurality of subscriber terminals.
