    • A display device includes a photosensor in a pixel region (1) of an active matrix substrate (100). The photosensor is provided with a photodetection element (D1) that receives incident light; a capacitor (C2), one electrode of which is connected to the photodetection element (D1), that accumulates output current from the photodetection element (D1); reset signal wiring (RST) that supplies a reset signal to the photosensor; readout signal wiring (RWS) that supplies a readout signal to the photosensor; and a sensor switching element (M2) that, in accordance with the readout signal, reads out the output current accumulated in the capacitor (C2) from when the reset signal is supplied until when the readout signal is supplied. Conductive wiring (ML) is provided along readout wiring (SLr) that is for reading out the output current, the conductive wiring (ML) being connected to neither the photodetection element (D1) in the pixel region nor a pixel switching element (M1) of the pixel region.

    • A protective structure for a vehicle having an opening on an upper surface is provided. One embodiment of the invention has at least a partial enclosure around an area defined laterally by the vehicle opening with an overhead and side protective capability. An embodiment of the invention has an overhead cover that is formed to substantially enclose a top area of the enclosure and having multiple panels that may be locked into place or opened by an occupant for exit through a top area of the enclosure. The multiple panels in this embodiment extend upwardly and inwardly from a section of the enclosure's side walls. Ballistic windows are provided on the protective structure such that an occupant can view laterally and vertically through the enclosure and overhead cover. A shield or protective plate can be mounted on one side of the enclosure.

    • Provided are a photodetector capable of suppressing variations in the output characteristics among photodiodes, and a display device provided with the photodetector. A display device in use has an active matrix substrate (20) including a transparency base substrate (2), a plurality of active elements and a photodetector. The photodetector includes a light-shielding layer (3) provided on the base substrate (2), and a photodiode (1) arranged on an upper layer of the light-shielding layer (3). The light-shielding layer (3) is overlapped with the photodiode (1) in the thickness direction of the base substrate (2). The photodiode (1) includes a silicon layer (11) insulated electrically from the light-shielding layer (3). The silicon layer (11) includes a player (11c), an i-layer (11b) and an n-layer (11a) that are provided adjacent to each other in the planar direction. The p-layer (11c) is formed so that its area (length Lp) will be larger than the area (length Ln) of the n-layer (11a).

    • A liquid crystal display device having an image input function capable of suppressing the degradation of image quality of a display image and a captured image caused by a parasitic capacitance is provided. The liquid crystal display device, which includes an active matrix substrate (1), a counter substrate (2), and a liquid crystal layer and performs inversion driving, includes a photodetection part provided on the matrix substrate (1) for each or at least two of the active elements, and a sensor drive part (5). The photodetection part includes a photodiode and a capacitance storing charge, and outputs a photodetective signal VSOUT whose level changes in accordance with the amount of the stored charge. The sensor drive part (5) outputs, to the photodetection part, a reset signal that resets the charge in the capacitance and a reading signal that causes the photodetection part to output a photodetective signal during a period in which the polarity is set to be a predetermined one, and a current supplied to the active elements does not vary after the completion of the inversion of the polarity.

    • A flexible bottle holder, such as for baby bottles, is made of child-safe plastic and attaches to support surfaces with a hand operated screw clamp. A flexible arm extends from the clamp and has a bottle support at the other end. The bottle support easily adjusts to various bottles and allows for quick and easy insertion and removal of bottles by an adult, but is resistant to easy removal by an infant and does not include any hardware that is dangerous to an infant. In one embodiment, the bottle support uses spring tabs to secure the bottle inside a plastic band. In another embodiment, an elastic fabric jacket secures the bottle to a bottle support cradle with a plurality of hook and loop fasteners.
