摘要： A method and apparatus are used to generate radio link control (RLC) protocol data units (PDUs). A data request for a logical channel is received as part of an enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) transport format combination (E-TFC) selection procedure in a medium access control (MAC). Upon determining the data field size, an RLC PDU is generated such that it matches the requested data from the E-TFC selection. The size of the RLC PDU generated can be greater than or equal to the minimum configured RLC PDU size (if data is available) and less than or equal to the maximum RLC PDU size. The data is then transmitted in the RLC PDU in a current transmission time interval (TTI).

摘要： A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving common logical channel and dedicated logical channel transmissions via a high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) are disclosed. A medium access control (MAC)-hs entity generates a MAC-hs protocol data unit (PDU) carrying a MAC-c/sh/m PDU and/or a MAC-d PDU. A UE-specific HS-DSCH radio network temporary identifier (H-RNTI) may be used for the MAC-d PDU, and a cell-specific H-RNTI may be used for the MAC-c/sh/b PDU. Alternatively, a cell-specific H-RNTI and one of a cell RNTI (C-RNTI) and a universal terrestrial radio access network RNTI (U-RNTI) may be used in a Cell_FACH state. The logical channel type and identity may be inserted in a MAC-hs PDU header or indicated by a distinct H-RNTI. A logical channel type for common logical channels may be identified in a MAC-c/sh/m PDU header. The logical channel type and identity may be identified by a queue identity.

At least one HSDPA medium access control (MAC-hs) service data unit (SDU) is segmented into a plurality of segments. MAC-hs protocol data units (PDUs) are generated from the segments wherein each MAC-hs PDU includes at least one segment. Each MAC-hs PDU may include one segment from a single MAC-hs SDU. The size of the segments may match to the size of the MAC-hs PDUs minus the size of the header of the MAC-hs PDU. The sizes of the segments may be determined based on the number of segments to which the MAC-hs SDU is segmented. Alternatively, each MAC-hs PDU may include a combination of segments from a plurality of MAC-hs SDUs or a combination of at least one segment from one MAC-hs SDU and at least one entire MAC-hs SDU.

The request may be in response to the WTRU entering a HNB cell for which the WTRU has stored fingerprint information and whose closed subscriber group ID is in the WTRU's whitelist. The network may configure the WTRU to measure the requested frequency or RAT in response to the proximity report/request. Methods are described for releasing the measurement configuration.
