    • A downhole tool string component that includes a tubular body with an inner surface, an outer surface and a shoulder extending from the outer surface at one end of the tubular body, a sleeve disposed about the outer surface having an end face in contact with the shoulder. The downhole tool string component further includes a loading member disposed about the outer surface near the other end of the tubular body and which is adapted for loading the sleeve against the shoulder. The loading member includes an internal threadform that is adapted to threadingly engage an external threadform formed into the outer surface of the tubular body. At least one of the external threadform and the internal threadform includes a plurality of threads with a distal thread having a first thread height and a proximal thread has a second thread height, with the first thread height being greater than the second thread height and a plurality of the threads heights between the first and second thread heights continuously tapering from the first height to the second height.

    • A drill bit assembly comprises a bit body intermediate a shank and a working face. The shank is adapted for connection to a drill string. The drill string comprising a fluid passage at least partially disposed within the body. A hammer assembly is movably disposed within the fluid passage along it central axis, the hammer assembly comprises a proximal end stabilized by a centralized upper bearing and a distal end stabilized by centralized a lower bearing. The distal end protrudes out of the working face and the hammer assembly comprises a carrier between the upper and lower bearings. Wherein, under normal drilling operations the carrier is adapted to resist a fluid pressure within the fluid passageway such that the fluid pressure will further extend the distal end of the hammer assembly from the working face by pushing on the carrier.

    • In one embodiment of the invention, a downhole tool string component comprising a through bore running there through formed to accept drilling fluid. At least one mechanical actuation device is also disposed within the through bore. A guide channel is disposed within the through bore and comprises a geometry shaped to conduct the at least one mechanical actuation device. A switch is disposed within the guide channel in an original position and actuatable by the at least one mechanical actuation device to a subsequent position. A resettable mechanism is in contact with the switch wherein the resettable mechanism returns the switch to its original position. A receptacle may also be disposed within the through bore comprising a geometry shaped to accept the at least one mechanical actuation device.
