    • An electronic device, e.g., a quartz crystal in an enclosure having three stubby leads for use in an electronic watch, is mounted adjacent to a substrate having three feedthrough holes near its perimeter. Connection between the substrate and the three stubby leads are made simultaneously by three individual connection devices all attached to a tab through individual breakaway neck portions. Each connection device comprises a tail which is forked for insertion by interference fit into the feedthrough holes in the substrate. At the opposite end from the tail is a keyhole opening, in which the larger hole fits over one of the stubby leads and in which a smaller hole can be slid onto the lead by a force fit. Thus, in operation, the bifurcated tails of each device are placed through the feedthrough holes and the keyhole openings of each device are placed over their respective stubby leads. By pulling on the tab common to the three connector devices, the smaller hole of each keyhole opening is force fitted onto the stubby lead, after which the tab is broken away from the respective connector devices at the necked-down portions. A tooling hole in each connector device adjacent the keyhole opening permits removal of individual connector devices, such as by a hooked tool.

    • An electrical connector pin contact formed of a single blank of sheet metal including a pin section formed of a contoured strip-like portion extending outwardly from a main body part which includes a wire terminal portion to a rounded nose portion where it is folded back on itself to define two laterally spaced, medially bulged and oppositely longitudinally channeled arms, a free return end of the folded-back arm being engageable with but movable in relation to a part of the main body part to increase resistance of the bulged portions of the arms to movement toward each other when inserted in a mating socket contact. In one form the contact, which may be of either the pin or socket type, is insertable in and removable from its holder by pushing it into or out of holding engagement with a friction retaining portion.

    • An electrical contact, or terminal, structure is disclosed, which is designed for use in an electrical connector device. The terminal structure is a generally flat conducting element, preferably a unitary metal stamping, having a contact end which is resiliently deflectible by a force normal to the plane of the element, and having spaced-apart, longitudinally extending side portions, or branches, which are resiliently deflectible toward one another in the plane of the element to permit their insertion into and automatic locking in place in a terminal supporting member, such as a molded insulating insert, or block, mounted in either the male or female shell of an electrical connector device.

    • An electrical connector for mounting a daughter board is shown having two rows of aligned contacts which may be preassembled in an insulator housing upon a special tool prior to insertion into aligned apertures in a mother board. The contacts are each provided with outwardly facing shouldered tabs which engage shouldered tabs on the inner surface of the bottom side walls of the housing. The lower portions of the housing side walls are flexible to permit the disengagement of the shoulders and removal of the housing. The side walls are joined by webs which create contact-receiving modules therebetween. Each module is free of obstructions above the upper surface of the shouldered contact tab to permit removal and replacement of the contact without removing the housing.

    • A novel push-type wire terminating apparatus comprises an outer casing having a hollow section within, and a movable body loosely coupled with the outer casing in the hollow section. The outer casing has a recess in the hollow section corresponding to a protrusion of the movable body, and elastic means disposed therein for engaging the protrusion in position at one end so as to make the movable body be able to slide up and down in the hollow section. At least a pair of conductors are fixedly arranged in the hollow section at one end and loosely coupled with the movable body at another through a wire guide opening therein. When making wire termination, press down the movable body, insert the prepared wire end from a passage on top of the movable body and let it pass through a wire hole on the conductor until it reaches at the end. Releasing the pressure applied on the movable body, the wire ends will be firmly secured to the conductors thereat and the termination is completed accordingly.

    • This connector consists of metal wire sections having a round or oval cross-sectional contour, which are equal in number to the electric conductors to be interconnected, each section comprising a straight or curved central portion, according to the particular position and orientation of the end portions of the electric conductors to be interconnected, and curved end portions bent to an arcuate configuration having a center angle of less than 180.degree. to constitute a highly resilient loop, said wires consisting to this end of a high-grade steel core having a tensile strength of more than 80 kilograms per square millimeter and preferably of the order of 120 kg/sq.mm., coated with a copper layer having a thickness in excess of 0.3 mm and preferably of the order of 0.5 mm. This connector may be used notably for interconnecting electric conductors of the current lead-in type as depicted in the U.S. Pat. No. 3,777,300.
