摘要： Sleeve for mounting a ceramic roller in a roller hearth furnace, the sleeve has a receptacle for one end of the ceramic roller, the receptacle being surrounded by a lateral wall. The lateral wall has, in the axial direction, a waist portion and a clamping portion, wherein a wall thickness (d) of the lateral wall in the waist portion is smaller than in the vicinity of the waist portion, and a cross-sectional area of the receptacle in the clamping portion is smaller than in the vicinity of the clamping portion.
A ceramic roller can be mounted in a roller hearth furnace by the sleeve, even at high temperature. During production, the sleeve is provided with a reduced cross-sectional area in the clamping portion. When the sleeve is pressed axially onto the end of a ceramic roller, the reduced cross-sectional area produces an elastic force, with the sleeve being held on the ceramic roller.

摘要： In a continuous process for continuous casting and hot-rolling of metal sheet, off-line storage of a slab takes place in a thermally insulated storage chamber located alongside a thermally insulated zone through which the slab lengths travel in the production line between a cutter for the slab and the hot-rolling mill train. On stoppage of the hot-rolling mill train, at least one slab length is transferred laterally to the off-line thermally insulated storage chamber. To improve ductility, an induction heating stage is combined with a subsequent temperature-maintaining stage in the furnace for homogenization of temperature within the slab. Both these stages are performed on the slab at its casting thickness.

摘要： In a setting machine for spacing formed articles a conveyor belt provides closely spaced green bricks in longitudinal rows. The longitudinal rows are transferred to a setting support collecting the green bricks as a compact setting or a partial setting of several parallel longitudinal rows or of one longitudinal row. The setting support comprises spaced rollers and carrying strips between the rollers and capable of moving in the direction of the roller axes. Each carrying strip is subdivided into spaced apart sections which are linked to lift cylinders moving them up and down independently. The lift cylinders are mounted on a carriage movable in the direction of the roller axes and which carries along the sections. The sections can lift up the green bricks from the rollers, the carriage can then move and after sufficient distance is reached the green bricks are lowered onto the rollers. The thus provided setting can be removed onto a conveyor or can be lifted by grippers.
