The device is distinguished in that a transformation by the coupling lens occurs such that an aperture angle of propagation directions of the light beams lying in the second planes is reduced, and the aperture angle of propagation directions lying in the first planes is not altered, or is altered less strongly, and in that the optical waveguide has a transport and transformation lens, wherein the coupling lens and the transport and deflection lens are separate components.

The translucent member has a center region located forward of the light-emitting element that serves as a lens-like direct light control portion. The translucent member has a peripheral region surrounding the center region that serves as a reflecting light control portion in which light emitted from the light-emitting element and incident on the translucent member is internally reflected forward by a rear surface of the translucent member and emitted forward from a front surface of the translucent member. The direct light control portion is configured such that light emitted from the direct light control portion has a light intensity distribution in which light intensity is highest in a direction at a first required angle from the forward direction of the lamp.

摘要： An optical system includes a lens and reflector configured to form a wide angle beam from light emitted from an array of LEDs by modifying only the component of emitted light that diverges from a reference plane. A central portion of the lens collimates emitted LED light relative to the reference plane containing the optical axes of the LEDs. A peripheral portion of the lens re-directs emitted LED light into an orientation perpendicular to the reference plane. The reflector surrounds the periphery of the lens and re-directs light from the peripheral portion of the lens into a direction parallel with the reference plane. The linear array of LEDs may include sub arrays projecting away from a support plane to enhance visibility of a resulting light signal from vantage points close to or aligned with the support plane.
