    • An integrated lock and latch device for use in sliding sash windows includes a lock assembly including a sweep cam that has a pinion portion adjacent and extending downwardly from it. The pinion portion presents gear teeth extending outwardly. A tilt latch assembly including a sliding bolt is biased toward an extended position where a terminal portion of the sliding bolt extends outwardly. The sliding bolt has at least one track portion. The sweep cam is rotatably shiftable between a locked position where the sweep cam is engaged to the keeper, an intermediate unlocked position where the sweep cam is disengaged from the keeper and a tilt position where the sweep cam is disengaged from the keeper and the first gear teeth are engaged to the second gear teeth and the sliding bolt is withdrawn inwardly from the extended position.

    • A window opening and closing assembly formed of molded plastic components which includes first and second housing members suitably secured together with a rack slidably mounted in the housing, the rack being moveable between first and second positions which correspond to fully open and fully closed positions for the window, the rack having a tongue extending exteriorly of the housing and designed to engage window rollers, a pinon operatively engaged with the slidable rack, and a handle having a shaft connected to the pinion whereby rotatable movement of the shaft will cause the pinion to move the rack within the housing. There are preferably provided locking members means for locking the handle in at least filly open and fully closed positions. The assembly is easily manufactured and assembled.

    • A safe door locking system comprising a pinion rotatably mounted inside the door, and a door operating handle wheel at the outside of the door which is drivingly coupled to the pinion. A rack bar is coupled, via a gear mesh to the pinion. The door is adapted to lock by a plurality of in-unison rotatable disc-like lock bolts coupled to the rack bar. The rack is of hybrid structure, constituted by a double-T profiled, non-ferrous metal extruded bar. Inside one of its elongated cavities, at appropriate intervals as determined by the location of the said lock bolts, there are fastened a respective number of gear-toothed inserts meshed with the said lock bolts. An additional gear-toothed insert is fastened inside the other of the elongated cavities, meshing with the pinion. The pinion, the inserts, and the disc lock bolts are all made by slicing off extruded non-ferrous metal bars of suitable shapes, as the case may be.
