    • A belt band conveyor has an endless conveyor belt band guided over deflection and/or drive friction rollers, for deflecting and/or driving the conveyor belt band. Each roller includes an axially-extending shaft. At least three roller segments are releasably mounted on the shaft, axially apart from one another, so as to rotate about a rotational axis extending axially in the longitudinal direction, Each roller segment has an inside circumference contour and a friction surface on its radial outside circumference engaging on the lower belt with friction fit. The inside circumference contour of each roller segment and the outside circumference contour of the shaft are structured so that each roller segment is connected with the shaft with shape fit to prevent twisting about the rotational axis. When the shaft turns about the rotational axis, in a rotational direction, the roller segments also turn about the rotational axis, in this rotational direction.

    • A flow shelf roller having an outer circumference, a radially central hub, and an axially central bore forming an inner circumference through the central hub. The inner circumference of each roller has at least one axial relief channel formed therein along the length of the axial bore. In a more particular embodiment, the axial relief channel is formed including a non-perpendicular angle with respect to the inner circumference of the roller. In a more particular embodiment, the axial relief channel includes at least one of an angled chamfer and a radiused corner, adjacent to the inner circumference of the first roller. The disclosure also includes a roller flow shelf including a flow bed roller having any or all of the aforementioned characteristics.

    • A transfer roll 1 for conveying a strip of substantially flat material from one device to another. The strip passes over the transfer roll as the transfer roll rotates. The transfer roll includes a flat and smooth cylindrical outer skin which comprises at least two cylindrical elements. Between the cylindrical elements is arranged a means 7 for reducing the mechanical stiffness of the cylindrical skin relative to the stiffness-of the remainder of the cylindrical skin 2. Suitable means such as a welded joint 9 of reduced cross sectional thickness compared to the remainder of the cylinder are described. Such means separate the cylinder mechanically into a plurality of measurement areas with a predetermined degree of crosstalk. The transfer roll may be used to measure force or tension in strip material more accurately than with previous devices.

    • A roller made of a synthetic resin, used for supporting a conveyor belt, possesses an anti-electrostatic-charge capability. Utilizing insert-forming injection molding, a conveyor carrier roller body is integrally formed concentrically about a thin walled metallic housing containing a rotary bearing assembly therein at the innermost position for concentrically forming a conveyor carrier roller body integrally with the metallic housing. The inner race of the bearing is force-fitted onto the roller shaft and the outer race of the bearing is force-fitted inside the metallic housing. A roller of such a construction will readily discharge the static electricity charged on the surface of the roller by conducting it to ground through a snap ring (fitted in a circular groove formed inside of the boss portion of the roller), the housing, the bearing, and the shaft. The snap ring positioned adjacent the electricity charging place functions like a lightening conductor through the point-discharging.
