    • The present invention provides an organic electroluminescence element, a display device, and a lighting device, which have high efficiency and long life and are stable in the color purity. The present invention is an organic electroluminescence element comprising: an anode; a cathode; and a plurality of emissive layers interposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein each of the plurality of emissive layers is a positive and negative charge-transport emissive layer comprising at least a hole transport material, an electron transport material, and a luminescent material, the organic electroluminescence element further comprises an electron blocking layer and a hole blocking layer, the electron blocking layer comprising at least an electron blocking material and being provided between the anode and the plurality of emissive layers, the hole blocking layer comprising at least a hole blocking material and being provided between the cathode and the plurality of emissive layers, an absolute value LEBM and an absolute value LETM satisfy a formula of LEBM HHTM, the absolute value HHBM indicating a highest occupied molecular orbital of the hole blocking material in the hole blocking layer, the absolute value HHTM indicating a highest occupied molecular orbital of the hole transport material in the positive and negative charge-transport emissive layer in contact with the hole blocking layer.

This makes it possible to provide a simple-structured, high-luminance, high-efficiency, and long-life organic EL element.
