摘要： A biodegradable lubricating base oil obtained by carrying out an addition reaction of an alkylene oxide and a transesterification in a mixture of fats and oils, a polyhydric alcohol or an aliphatic carboxylic acid, and an alkylene oxide, the mixture containing 5 to 150 mol of the alkylene oxide to 1 mol of the fats and oils; a biodegradable lubricating base oil obtained by carrying out esterification of all or part of the hydroxyl group in the above fats and oils derivative using an aliphatic carboxylic acid or ester derivative thereof. Further, a biodegradable lubricating oil composition containing the biodegradable lubricating base oil and the use thereof are also described.

摘要： A process for the preparation of a lubricating oil additive composition is described were an aromatic carboxylic ester is subjected to ring alkylation with an olefin, reacted with the oxide or hydroxide or an alcoholate of a divalent metal and carbon dioxide with the removal of formed water and/or an alcohol from the reaction mixture. A lubricating oil additive composition obtained by the process, and a lubricating oil composition containing the same is also described. The lubricating oil additive provides excellent oxidation stability, low susceptibility to carbonization and cleanability as compared with the conventional, commercially-available additives.

The high-molecular dispersant contains a copolymer that contains a constitutional unit (a), a constitutional unit (b), and a constitutional unit (c), wherein the constitutional unit (a) accounts for 5 to 45 wt % of the total amount of the constitutional units, the constitutional unit (b) accounts for 50 to 90 wt % of the total amount of the constitutional units, and a ratio by weight of the constitutional unit (c) with respect to the constitutional unit (b) (constitutional unit (c)/constitutional unit (b)) is 0.05 to 0.7, wherein the constitutional unit (a) is a constitutional unit represented by a general formula (1), the constitutional unit (b) is either a constitutional unit represented by a general formula (2-1), or a constitutional unit originating from a macromonomer having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond at one of the terminals of a polymer main chain of the macromonomer, the polymer main chain having a repetitive unit represented by a general formula (2-2), and the constitutional unit (c) is a constitutional unit represented by a general formula (3).

摘要： The present invention provides a method for souring, using an scouring agent composition which has low-viscosity although being highly concentrated, which has excellent scouring property under highly alkaline conditions, and which has excellent biodegradability. That is, the present invention provides a method for scouring fiber, which comprises the step of treating the fiber with a scouring agent comprising (A) a nonionic surfactant having the formula (I):R.sub.1 --O--(EO).sub.l (PO).sub.m (EO).sub.n H (I)in which R.sub.1 is an alkyl or an alkenyl, being straight or branched, having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, EO is an oxyethylene unit, PO is an oxypropylene unit, l and n are an average mole number of added oxyethylene units, m is an average mole number of added oxypropylene units, l is a number of 1 to 12, m is a number of 1 to 4 and n is a number of 1 to 12, provided that (EO).sub.l, (PO).sub.m and (EO).sub.n are blocks connected in this order.
