摘要： This specification discloses a method and system for learning a language. This invention takes the language data selected by a learner or a default test base as the learning content and improves the learner's language ability through tests about the learning content. The learner is allowed to arbitrarily update the language data stored in a learning database. The system according to the present invention contains a grammar analysis engine. This engine analyzes the grammar of the language data in the learning database according to the grammatical rules collected and stored in a language grammar database, converts the language data in the learning database into test problems according to the problem models stored in a problem model database, and finally performs language tests using the grammar analysis processor and provides the test results (such as error analysis and explanation). This provides a language learning system that allows a learner to provide or update learning data and generates test problems accordingly.

When commands input in clients by customers are transferred to the web server for interpreting, assignments such as tutorial interfaces, courses, review intervals, or even examination questions are then provided by the server according to the commands. The customers may assign tutorial interfaces, courses, and review intervals in the custom-made mode and study courses or receive testing via examination questions according to previous determinations in the review mode. Additionally, when customers next time enter the disclosed system, the tutorial interfaces previously assigned will be shown for tutorial purpose. The examination questions may be selected according to answers of the examination questions and the decay model illustrative of the human memory, therefore the disclosed system may real-time selected examination questions suitable for customers' learning conditions for upgrading learning efficiency.

The local user selects a curriculum topic from a database for learning. A user-mating module establishes network connections according to the online user status. A curriculum-coding module encodes the characteristics of the curriculum contents and transfers the characteristic codes to the remote user site. A curriculum-decoding module at the remote user site receives and decodes the characteristic codes to generate correspondent curriculum pages. A page synchronization module returns and updates the curriculum pages for the users. Therefore, the local and remote users take oral practices on the curriculum pages through audio/video communication.
