The closure (10) comprises a top portion (11) and a skirt portion (12) depending from the top portion. The closure (10) also has a sealing rib (14) having a first sealing portion (15) which is contiguous with the top portion (11). The first portion (15) has an inner surface made up of at least a first substantially cylindrical surface portion (17) lying radially inwardly of the first surface portion (17). The rib (14) further includes a second sealing portion (16) that is separated from the top portion (11) by the first portion (15) and which, prior to attachment of the closure to the container, extends inwardly to a free edge. The closure (10) further has a continuous nub member (28) extending downwardly and outwardly from the underside of the top portion (11) and positioned radially inwardly of the first sealing portion (15). On relative attachment of the closure to the container end portion, the nub member (28) seals with an inner surface of the container end portion and the sealing rib (14) seals with at least an outer surface of the container end portion.

The length of the second portion (15) is such that, during attachment of the closure (10) with the end portion of the container (20), the end portion of the container contacts the second portion (15) and pushes it upwardly and at least towards the first portion (14) so as to form a seal between the end portion of the container (20) and the closure (10).

摘要： A closure (5) suitable for mounting onto a container (80). A closure comprises a main closure (10) having a top portion (11) that has an aperture (32) therethrough and a skirt (12) depending downwardly from the top portion (11) that is attachable to the container. A sealing rib (16) extends inwardly from the inner surface of the main closure (10) and is adapted to form a seal with the end portion of the container (80). A spout (33) extends upwardly from the top portion (11) and defines a bore that is in fluid communication with the aperture (32) in the top portion (11). A plug (36) having radially outer surface is mounted to the spout (33). The closure further comprises a top cap (50) that is mountable to the spout and is relatively movable between a first position where the plug (36) seals an opening in the top cap (5) and at least a second position where the plug (36) is withdrawn from the opening. On relative movement of the top cap (50) from the first position towards the second position, a sealing member (59) of the top cap (50) rides up over one or more protuberances (40) extending outwardly from the spout so as to at least partially release the seal made by the sealing member (59) with the spout (33).
