摘要： Scanning rangefinder of simple, compact construction. The rangefinder is furnished with: an outer cover (1) in which a transparent window (2) is formed; a cylindrical rotary unit (3) inside the outer cover (1); a scanning/receiving window (4) provided in the rotary unit (3); a dual scanning/receiving mirror (5) disposed, angled, along the rotational axis of the cylindrical rotary unit (3); a motor (6) for rotationally driving the rotary unit (3); a disk part (13) arranged in the cylindrical rotary unit (3), anchored in an inside region thereof; a beam projector (14) anchored in a location where it is disposed slightly spaced apart from the rotational axis of the rotary unit (3); and a light receiver (16) anchored to, arranged coincident with the rotational axis of, the disk part (13) in the inside region of the rotary unit (3), and connected to a distance computation circuit (19).

摘要： This invention is directed to an energy irradiation apparatus including an insertion portion (3) which includes a hollow cylindrical member (14) having a sealed distal end portion and is inserted into a living body, and an energy irradiation portion (20) which applies energy to living tissue through an irradiation window portion (17) which is provided on a side wall of the hollow cylindrical member (14) to extend in the longitudinal direction. This apparatus includes a driving unit which reciprocates with substantially a constant velocity the laser irradiation portion (20) in the direction indicated by an arrow D along the longitudinal direction of the irradiation window portion (17). With this structure, the energy irradiation apparatus can uniformly irradiate a lesion with energy.

摘要： A plastic optical fiber end surfaces processing method is disclosed which allows formation of not only a convex semi-spherical surface but also of an arbitrary profile such as a concave semi-spherical surface. In addition, an apparatus for use in the method, a cutter for the method, and a plastic optical fiber connection method are disclosed. At least the core portion of the end surface of a plastic optical fiber is cut into a semi-spherical surface by a semi-circular cutter, which is of a convex or a concave shape. This cutter is inserted into a through-hole of a holder and rotates therein. The plastic optical fiber is inserted into the through-hole of this holder, and end surface processing is effected by the rotating cutter.
