摘要： An apparatus to provide digital broadcasting data using a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) includes: a digital broadcasting processor adapted to receive, demodulate, decode, and output multi-channel digital broadcasting data; a transcoder adapted to receive the demodulated digital broadcasting data from the digital broadcasting processor, to convert the digital broadcasting data into a format transmittable over a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and to output the converted digital broadcasting data; and a WLAN processor adapted to transmit the converted digital broadcasting data to a wireless terminal device connected to the WLAN. The method includes: establishing a session using a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) between the multi-channel broadcasting receiver and a wireless terminal device, the wireless terminal device being connected to the multi-channel broadcasting receiver via the WLAN, in response to a wireless terminal device's request; converting the digital broadcasting data received by the multi-channel broadcasting receiver into a format transmittable via the WLAN in response to a digital broadcasting service request from the wireless terminal device; and transmitting the converted digital broadcasting data to the wireless terminal device via the WLAN.

摘要： Disclosed is a broadcasting system and method for transmitting/receiving a broadcast data in a broadcasting system, which reduces an application download period by efficiently utilizing a data broadcasting stream and a return channel for application download when a reception terminal receives a data broadcast. The broadcasting system and method includes a data broadcast reception terminal to receive the broadcast data and a bi-directional broadcasting server to communicate with the data broadcast reception terminal through a return channel: the data broadcast reception terminal receives a data broadcast stream during one broadcast transmission period, and requests the bi-directional broadcasting server to transmit a portion of the data broadcast stream (e.g. section data) through the return channel when the section data of the received data broadcast stream is lost; the bi-directional broadcasting server transmits the section data to the data broadcast reception terminal when a download request is received for the section data from the data broadcast reception terminal; and the data broadcast reception terminal performs modularization using a received lost section data and the previously-received section data to extract application files when receiving the lost section data and displays the extracted application files on a screen.

The DLNA system includes a digital media server for providing information about a broadcast A/V and data so as to handle a request for the data when a digital broadcast is requested, the digital media server receiving the digital broadcast and dividing the received digital broadcast into a broadcast A/V part and a data part so as to download the broadcast A/V part and the data part, respectively, and a digital media player for requesting the digital media server to transmit information about the digital broadcast, and to transmit data after receiving information about the broadcast A/V part and the data part from the digital media server, and for receiving and carrying out the requested data.

摘要： A method for updating contents of a Digital Media Server (DMS) in a digital living network alliance system (DLNA) is disclosed. An update process is performed through a periodic update event in a Digital Media Player (DMP) that receives all content information of the DMS. Upon determining that information loss has occurred in the update process, the DMP sends to the DMS a request for information about a list of items possessed by the DMS. The DMP receives the requested information about the list of items and compares the received information about the list of items with information about pre-stored items to obtain a comparison result. When a difference occurs as the comparison result, all information about contents of the DMS is obtained through a browse action. When the difference does not occur as the comparison result, the update process is continuously performed.
