    • An ultrasonic welding structure is provided for a chip body 11 and a lid body 12 to be welded to each other by using ultrasonic waves. The chip body 11 is provided with a welding recess 15 defined by tapered sidewalls 15A, 15A. While, the lid body 12 is provided with a welding projection 17 also defined by tapered sidewalls 17C, 17C, for engagement with the welding recess 15. The chip body 11 and the lid body 12 in their assembled condition are subjected to ultrasonic oscillation characterized by its amplitude direction A. Then, since the welding surfaces of the sidewalls 15A, 17C each has a projected area with respect to the amplitude direction A, the welding surfaces are welded to each other owing to frictional heat resulting from the ultrasonic oscillation. With this welding structure, the chip body 11 is perfectly welded to the lid body 12 by one time of ultrasonic oscillation.

    • A waterproof connector is provided. The connector includes a housing 12 having terminal accommodating chambers 15 for accommodating terminals 14 and a cover 13 overlaid on the housing 12 to define wire insertion holes 20 between the cover 13 and the housing 12. The cover 13 is provided with a fall-stop engagement part 31 which engages with respective rear ends of the terminals 14 in order to prevent them from falling out of housing 12. In order to provide the connector with a waterproof structure, a resinous cover part 3 of each covered wire 1 is welded to both housing 12 and cover 13 by ultrasonic oscillating the housing 12 under pressure while each wire 1 is inserted into the wire insertion hole 20. Further, owing to the ultrasonic oscillation, the housing 12 is also welded to the cover 13 in the resultant waterproof structure.

    • A protection cover attachment structure of a battery-mounted fusible link unit includes a fusible link unit including a resin housing with a slide guide groove and a protection cover including an upper surface cover and side surface covers. The upper surface cover covers the upper surface of the resin housing and a battery post and a battery terminal. The side surface covers extend downward from a peripheral edge of the upper surface cover and cover the wire-attached terminals connected to the terminal sections of the fusible link unit and upper part of wires which are connected to the terminals and extended downward. When the protection cover is put over the resin housing, the slide guide grooves restricts the position of the protection cover and guides a side edge of at least one of the side surface covers downward.

    • A fuse 1 of the present invention includes a fuse body 32, a housing 33 which is made of an insulative resin, and receives and holds the fuse body therein, the fuse body being inserted into the housing through an upper opening in the housing, and a cover 34 which is made of an insulative resin, and covers the upper opening in the housing. Retaining portions 50, corresponding respectively to retaining claws 47 of a withdrawing jig for withdrawing the housing, are formed at a side surface of the housing. Therefore, the retaining claws of the withdrawing jig can be positively fixed to the housing, and a relatively large force is not required for the withdrawing operation, and therefore the withdrawing operation can be effected efficiently.
