    • A method for manufacturing a touch panel integrated display device including a touch panel and a display panel that are integrally stacked, with a light-transmissive sticky layer interposed therebetween, includes the steps of (a) forming a transparent conductive layer by transfer onto a display surface of the display panel, with an adhesive layer interposed therebetween, by using a transferable film having the adhesive layer and the transparent conductive layer; (b) stacking a polarizing layer on one surface of the touch panel, the one surface being an input surface of the touch panel; and (c) bonding the transparent conductive layer formed on the display surface of the display panel to the other surface of the touch panel, with the sticky layer interposed therebetween.

    • An input device, disposed in front of a display device, includes a polarizing film, a λ/4 retardation film, and a touch sensor unit including first and second light transmissive films arranged farther from the outside of the input device than the polarizing film. Each of the first and second light transmissive films is formed of a film controlled such that it is approximately optically isotropic. The film exhibits birefringence caused by drawing in the machine direction upon manufacture such that the slow axis extends along the machine direction. The machine direction of the film is allowed to be orthogonal to that of the other film, thus allowing the slow axes to be orthogonal to each other in order to cancel out the slow axes such that the input device is generally isotropic.

    • The screen of a liquid crystal panel is divided into two portions. In the divided screens (upper screen and lower screen), the corresponding common electrodes (each for one divided screen) are simultaneously driven. The driving signal (common signal C1) of the upper screen and the driving signal (common signal C2) of the lower screen change in one cycle of four frame periods. More specifically, in the above-mentioned cycle, the common signal C1 changes in a pattern (1→1→1→−1), and the common signal C2 changes in a pattern (1→−1→1→1) in synchronization with each other. Accordingly, upon comparison of the common signals C1 and C2, it appears that the signal having the same waveform is applied to the common electrodes while being out of phase with each other. Thus, a difference of the drive frequency between the upper screen and the lower screen is eliminated. It is thus possible to provide an inexpensive liquid crystal apparatus, which is connected to an existing dual-scan interface, without degrading the display quality.

    • A liquid crystal display device includes transparent electrodes mutually extending in parallel, and lead patterns used as terminals leading from ends of the transparent electrodes, both formed on a cell substrate produced by separating a large glass substrate. In the device, extension patterns leading from other ends of the transparent electrodes are formed on the cell substrate, and minute gaps for discharging static electricity accumulated in the transparent electrodes during a production process are formed at portions of the extension patterns outside an effective display region. The liquid crystal display device is produced such that transparent electrodes, lead patterns used as terminals leading from ends of the transparent electrodes, extension patterns leading from the other ends of the transparent electrodes, and an identical potential pattern outside the cell substrate-formed patterns being conductive with the transparent electrodes are formed with a plurality of cell substrate-formed regions being adjacently positioned, minute gaps narrower than the gap between the adjacent transparent electrodes are formed within each cell substrate-formed region outside an effective display region, and the large glass substrate is cut so that a plurality of cell substrates are separately formed.
