摘要： An umbrella base comprises one or more identical sector-shaped base boxes that can be filled with heavy filling material (e.g., sand), the identical sector-shaped base boxes are attached to each other and placed on a formation of elongated base members of an umbrella to hold the umbrella in an upright position. When the umbrella base is not in use, the base boxes can be emptied and separated, and the identical sector-shaped boxes may be disassembled and stacked on top of one another. The overall dimension of the sector-shaped boxes when stacked is compact which allows the umbrella and the umbrella base together to fit inside the umbrella package.

摘要： The invention is related to methods and apparatus that provide improved video encoding. Conventional video encoding techniques inadequately determine the encoding mode for a macroblock. One embodiment according to the invention advantageously includes the coding cost for motion vectors into the mode decision, thereby enhancing the quality of the selection of the mode.
