    • The invention provides a wet friction material having high friction coefficient, excellent compression fatigue property and positive gradient of a μ-V property. The wet friction material contains a paper base material and a binder, in which the binder contains a cured material of a liquid resin composition obtained by mixing a hydrolyzed solution of a silane coupling agent represented by the following formula (1) and a resol-type phenol resin, and a weight ratio (S/R) between respective non-volatile components of the hydrolyzed solution (S) of the silane coupling agent and the resol-type phenol resin (R) is in the range of from 80/20 to 20/80: (X)(R1)nSi(OR2)3−n (1), in which X represents an alkylamino group having a primary amine at a terminal; R1 and R2 each independently represent an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and n represents an integer of 0 or 1.

    • An apparatus for making paper includes a stirring tank and a paper making portion. The stirring tank includes: an outer cylinder; a middle cylinder disposed concentrically with the outer cylinder; a raw-material feeding port for feeding raw-material into said stirring tank; a stirring mechanisms; and a top plate for holding the outer and middle cylinders in a predetermined position. The paper making portion is installed below the stirring tank and includes: a wire cloth and a paper making frame having an opening for holding said wire cloth, and the opening is connected to a suction unit. The stirring mechanisms are uniformly disposed above the wire cloth. In addition, a plurality of raw-material feeding ports are uniformly disposed above the wire cloth.

    • A friction plate is constituted by a core plate, and friction members fixed respectively to opposite surfaces of the core plate. The friction member has oil passages, extending therethrough from its inner peripheral surface to its outer peripheral surface, and oil grooves which are open to the inner peripheral surface, but do not extend through the friction member. The area ratio of the oil grooves to the oil passages is 25% to 100%; and the width of the oil groove is not larger than the width of the oil passage. The length of the oil groove is not less than 1/4 of the length of the oil passage. It is not necessary that all of the oil grooves have the same length. Preferably, the width of the oil passage, as well as the width of the oil groove, is not more than 3 mm. The oil passages and the oil grooves may be inclined relative to the radial direction.
