    • PURPOSE: Recording/reproducing method and device of a recording medium are provided to accurately and precisely control a recording medium and a recording/reproducing device by overcoming the distortion of a servo signal and servo instability. The predetermined incident angle of the light illuminated corresponds to a critical angle. The critical angle corresponds to the incident angle at which the light incoming to the recording media from the pick-up is totally reflected from the recording media.

    • A holographic information recording/reproducing apparatus and method are provided to increase recording/reproducing time with respect to a recording region, since an aperture moves according to the rotation of a holographic recording medium to keep fixed relative position with the rotating holographic recording medium. A holographic information recording/reproducing apparatus(20) comprises a light source(21), a first beam splitter(31), a spatial light modulator(23), a mirror(M), a two-dimensional photodetector(26), and an aperture(A). The light source generates light beam. The first beam splitter splits the light beam generated from the light source into two beams. The spatial light modulator modulates one beam into signal beam having two-dimensional signal pattern for transmitting the signal beam to a holographic recording medium(D). The mirror transmits the other beam as reference beam to the holographic recording medium. The two-dimensional photodetector detects signal beam reproduced from the holographic recording medium. The aperture, which limits the width of the signal light, is capable of moving with fixed relative position with the rotating holographic recording medium.
