    • PURPOSE: A scroll compressor is provided to simplify an assembling process for a compressor by employing a vacuum prevention unit of single module type and prevent the decline of compressor efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A scroll compressor comprises a sealed container, a compression unit, and a valve assembly. The internal space of the sealed container is divided into a low pressure area and a high pressure area. The compression unit is placed inside the sealed container to form a compression room. Spiral wraps in a plurality of scrolls of the compression unit are interlocked with each other to have a relative motion and move continuously. The valve assembly is placed between the low and the high pressure areas of the sealed container and selectively connects the low and the high pressure areas. A sealing groove(117) connected to the middle part of the compression room is formed on the side in which the compression unit and the valve assembly contact each other.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to protect the interior of compressor from being vacuumized and the thrust surface of an upper frame from wear. CONSTITUTION: A scroll type compressor has an upper frame(32) installed within a closed container(31) having an inlet tube(31a) and an outlet tube(31b) arranged at a side of the container. A fixed scroll(33) is fixed to a top of the upper frame through a bolt(34), and a swirling scroll(35) is installed beneath the fixed scroll to be rotatable within a compression chamber(37) by a rotation axis(36). A separation plate(40) for separating the interior of the closed container into a high pressure chamber(38) and a lower pressure chamber(39), is fixed onto the fixed scroll through a bolt(41). A back-pressure line(43) is installed within the swirling scroll in such a manner that the compression chamber is communicated with a thrust surface(42) of the upper frame. Thus, a portion of the refrigerant contained in the compression chamber is leaked to the low pressure chamber through the back-pressure line. The upper frame has at a top surface thereof an oil storage groove(44) for storing oil contained in the refrigerant being leaked through the back-pressure line.
